Painting the Lesterville
If you have a pattern of a hull bulkhead use it or there are other methods to create a pattern. Make it about a quarter inch, oops 5mm, larger than needed. Then glue foam rubber to the frames shape.

Well Doug, I also have done it hat way before painting. But it seemed like it was being advised as a top coat sealer. I always use Eze-Kote now on all the vintage refurb. Cheers Colin.

One trick to stop paint bleeding. Put the masking tape on, a quick pass with clear lacquer over the masking tape will seal the edge and stop the paint bleeding under the tape. One more trick. If masking tape leaves marks on your gloss paint
