Paint colours

You also have to remember the scale rule when painting if you want realism . Colours fade with distance - hence the far mountains seem blue.
A 1/72 model at 1 yard will be +- the same shade as the real thing about 75 yards away. So the exact real colour does not look right - must be a shade lighter - but dont overdo it.
Don't use a gloss paint either - Satin varnish is more realistic even on a mahogany launch like a Riva or Chris Craft for instance

Paint colours

The colours I painted mine were, Red primer and black for the hull and 'Polar Grey' and 'Appliance white' for the
s structure, then finished with a satin varnish, these are not the necessarily correct colours, but they look good.😊

Cheers, Pete

Paint colours

I am building a Fast Patrol launch by Les Rowell and would like to know if anyone knows the car colours that are the closest match to the grey for superstructure and red for the hull bottom. I use Halfords rattle cans and have always got a good result. Thanks in anticipation
