1/10 Model of Yamato
I visited the Yamato museum in Kure, Japan, to photograph the 1/10 model on display there. The museum was built around the model, which is 86 feet long.

In addition to the 1/10 Yamato, the museum features an entire wall of 1/100 models of every IJN warship class from WWII, as well as a second gallery housing full-size artifacts from the war, including a fully-restored Mitsubishi A6M "Zero", and a type 93 "Long Lance" torpedo.

    Amazing model!
But, I have a tough enough time squeezing my 36" and 42" models in my RAV4.

Now that would take a large pond to sail on!! - interesting you mentioned the A6M Zero, I had the privilege of sitting in the cockpit of a Zero several years ago - had to take my dive kit off as it was 30 mtrs underwater in Chuuk (Truk) lagoon !!

60' Viking Sport Fisherman
Hey Gang!
While vacationing off the coast of South Carolina on Kiawah Island I wandered over to a marina on John's Island and saw this beauty. It's a 62' Viking Sport Yacht. Her hull is made of fiberglass, with a beam of 18' 11" (5.77m), a draft of 5' 2" (1.58m). Top speed...42 Knots! Yow! 4 Staterooms and 3 heads doesn't hurt either.
Honestly, I'm not so sure the owner has ever "wet-a-line" off of this $3,100,000 beauty, but I am positive that the bar is well stocked. Either way she is a beautiful beast!

Club sail session
This was the first sail of the Vosper at Spencer's pool. The club held a military regatta. I had a problem with the Vosper kept stopping. I checked it out at home and found that the motor coupling kept backing off.

Torpedo boat destroyer
HMS Flirt, built by Palmers of Tyneside in 1897. It was a C class aka Star class three funnel 30 knot destroyer. Twin reciprocating steam engines.
The model is 1/72 scale, 3ft long. I have some figures to stick on yet as well as the torpedo davits and the ship's boats.
The model has twin electric motors and is controlled by a Flysky 10 channel radio. The motors can be run synchronized or independent, selected with one of the switches. The left knob rotates the forward gun and the other knob rotates the torpedo tubes.
The model is entirely scratch built. Fiberglass sheathing balsa for the hull. The funnels and cowl vent are 3d printed to my files. I now have a 3d printer which I'm sure will make many fitting for future models.

Deep Sea Trawlers test run
Took a long time to get her balanced properly so it wouldn't tip over and sink . Also ran the Vospar and found that it seems to leak, so off to the repair station.

Garth, she looks great on the water!
Getting the balance right on a model like this can be half the battle, but it looks like you’ve got her sorted now.

Too bad about the Vospar springing a leak—hopefully it’s a quick fix and she’ll be back on the water soon.
Great job on the test run! 👍⚓️
