I recently restored and upgraded the model (brushless motors etc) and thought that it would be great to take the model all the way down a lake in Devon to demonstrate it for him. Not having any local knowledge, I put a request on this excellent site, asking for help from local guys and must say that the site has some wonderful subscribers who came forward with help and support, especially Keystone. He was brilliant and greatly contributed to make the visit a great success. thanks, mate. My uncle and the other members present greatly enjoyed it, though the windy, cold conditions rendered the rum tot most acceptable!! The photos are self explanatory. The tug was there as a rescue boat if required.
Many thanks to all Model Boats' members who responded to my request for help.
- reilly4Warrant OfficerIt is a good thing that the realistic 15" shells splashes kept missing the MTB. 😉Liked by Donnieboy and RNinMunich

- GascoigneChief Petty Officer 2nd ClassThe hull looks in good shape from the photo. Have fun with the restoration though. Plenty of scope...Could be steam powered?
All the best. BrianLiked by Gravedigger47 - RNinMunichFleet AdmiralMuch better than the hull of the ancient Billing fish cutter Gina 2 I've just started to restore and convert. Took the deck out last night to reveal the awful hull planking 🤔
Good luck, will watch with interest 👍
Cheers, Doug 😎

I have tested the steam generator.
And it worked like it should.
It makes quite a bit of smoke!
It also smells like live steam.
It should add some great detail.
To my model tug Brooklyn!
- DonnieboyWarrant OfficerThat will look great in the Brooklin. That's a good amount of steam being generated. If anybody is looking for a steam generator that is a good one.Liked by figtree7nts
So we sat back with a coffee and some ice cream, enjoyed the sunshine while watching the tide come in ( to give us an idea of how long either side of high tide we have usable water ) and the various boats going around the harbour with a backdrop of HMS Queen Elizabeth. The ex USS Chesapeake/ex HMS Revenge was given an airing in the sun. She is now the Minerve/HMS Minerve depending on which side she is fighting on
- DennisRobothamPetty Officer 1st Classvery nice model, love the detail, finish and of course the passengers... what size is she
