Glad you like it, unfortunately, just had a message from Ethrow club, that they are banning fast electrics boats, after a number of complaints from public, about wildlife being harried by someone sailing their speedboat at them. I am not one of them try always to run in empty water, when at all possible. Need to check what they class as fast, or head to local canal and its weeds for my next speed rush.

Have checked with the club and we okay as long as its a scale boat, not an out and out speedster phew!!

Looks great and beautifully finished 😊 . I am currently building the 34.5" Lesro model of this boat and would very much like to see some photos of your model. it would provide me with an excellent guide as to how it should look in detail. Very Impressed by your detail work, almost makes me start mine again but too far in now.

I like your brass work, is it all yours or have you a supplier, if so I would be grateful if you would give details.

Also interested in your gooseneck joint between mast and main boom. I have made one and kicker from brass scrap but it has turned out a bit chunky. I have not done a yacht before, so am not sure if it can be made with main boom with only horizontal movement. I have at last made a fabricated boom but have allsorts of problems with the paint I have used.

I still have to decide how to make sails and the method of sail control so would be interested in how to do it.

I have a nice new 2.4 GHz RC kit, so interested in outcome of your recent radio problems.

Brass is mostly from Cornwall Model Boats with a few parts direct from RB (Poland) and the last remaining pulleys from Deans Marine. The 4 hand winches ate still being turned from brass stock and yet to be fitted.
The gooseneck is hand-made from brass sheet and was about the most difficult thing as I do not have access to brazing equipment. I still need to make a kick strap as this gooseneck allows too much movement.
Sails are made from a Hospital Cotton bed sheet. The mainsail is in 5 sections, each having a different curve top and bottom to attempt to get the correct billowing and twist.
I was surprised at the reception issues and haven't yet ruled out a dodgy receiver (sourced on ebay!)
I'll report back on the satellite receiver placement later in the week. We have a Night Sail on Wednesday so I can test my deck lights!

That looks very nice, my sort of boat, don't quite understand how you have stained a FG hull though.

It's a shame there are no drawings for this boat

alan painted hull 2coats yellow undercoat rubbed down between coats then 4coats light oak stain flatting down with 400 wet and dry between each coat after give 6 coats varnish flatten down between each coat that is it use poly eurotheyne high gloss varnish stain is matt finish skiboo

hI dave yes she is a daring class, at the moment she is on the back burner as Iv started to build an american mine sweeper and nearly finished my hms bulldog I will post some pics sortly

Hello Dave Thank you. No plans as such got some on line used a bit of them and pictures so made my own. I am an x toolmaker only took 3 weeks about 120 hours ish, 2 days to sew & decorate the sails, a day to make the hull, the rest to make the bits,the hull is 1 meter long and is a fully working ship pulley blocks all work & sails lovely. I enjoyed the build. Next one Royal Sovereign a bit bigger when I get time, once again Thank you. Paul.
