Wahine was a car passenger ferry of the Union Steamship Co. of New Zealand, and completed by Fairfields in 1966. She was lost in a major storm in the Cook Strait in 1968 with the death of 53 people. The model is substantially scratch-built with some fittings purchased. it is driven by two Graupner Speed 500 motors powered from two 6.6V 3200mAh LiFe batteries. it is fitted with twin stern and a single bow rudders, and bow and stern thrusters as on the original. The smoke effect is provided by a Steam Master Unit.

This model of a German North Sea FishingTrawler was built from a Graupner kit in January 1974. The crew are South American, the dog Welsh the owner English and her home port is Maldon. She is powered by a 6volt 400 motor coupled with a Viper 15amp controller and my Spectrum radio outfit. The 6volt 10 amp gel cell also acts as ballast.

Finally Finished touching up the paint after it being unused for over 5 years and now working better than before, after putting a new brushed 280 motor into the boat. The boat is roughly 850mm long and 141mm wide and was built by my late Grandfather when I was little.

A Graupner kit built some years ago, was given to me 2013 and I have refurbished the boat to get it sailing again! it has a Mono- perm motor and I have fitted 10 amp Mtronics speed controller and running on 8x AA 1600m/a Nicd batteries wired in parallel.

Hi! Alan
I built an Elke in January 1974 for my son. We sailed it together for a couple of years and then he lost interest (girls!) it spent the next forty five years in my loft (The model - not my son) until l resurected it a few years ago and, after a bit of a dusting and a spot of glue, relaunched it. it still had the original McGregor Digimax radio and speed controller fitted which, after renewing the batteries in both the receiver and tranny, still works a treat. I've since added a crew and some other refinements and it's often included in our Club displays. Hope you get as much enjoyment from your model as we have.

Here is a Graupner Bremen 9 converted to represent a UK Police boat. She is called DEVA which is the Roman name for the county capital of Cheshire - Chester.
If the Cheshire Constabulary owned a vessel of the size of the original Bremen 9, I am reliably informed that the 'Battenburg' and transom diagonal stripes would be correct. The 'BA 07' lettering on the superstructure is also the correct national and regional code for the Cheshire Constabulary. The constabulary crest on the cabin doors however has now been superseded by a more modern constabulary logo that looks sh1te.
The RIB provided with the kit is too small and in my opinion not to scale; I will replace it at some point. The light bar and all other blue and navigation lights work off 9v batteries.

This model was built from a model slipway Tamar kit. it was modified substantially.all rails are soldered brass. info was from the website of Peterhead R.N.L.I. Station were there are excellent photos. The models engines are thumper motors 4240' at 900kv and run on three cell lipos @ 5000ma. Which give me at least an hour. With a speed of at least 10 mph, which lifts her bow out of the water, way passed the bow thruster , which is a graupner 400. Radar works through an old servo . Flashing blue light on mast. Running and accommodation lights. These boats are normally red below waterline however Scarborough life boats have always been white below the waterline. The crew are star war figures modified with plastic putty and a sharp knife. Not an easy build but very enjoyable. Eric Plaxton was the chairman of plaxtons coaches, and platoons building services. He left 9 million pounds to the boro of Scarborough, and 3 million to scarborough R.N.L.I., for a new boat .

Many thanks , Yes I like the colour scheme as well. I have several projects I would like to start one being the jet drive boat. as I already have the jet drives in the drawer for the last 12 months, regards Jim clark

this is a slightly modified RTR tug Southampton the main casing has been lowered and a bigger battery fitted, but she still has the original motors and props, she is seen her towing a large barge a flat top pontoon ,a small tug and a Graupner German patrol boat, with a model slipways Envoy doing its best to overturn the lot.

🙄 Must be me beeing fick but can you explain what you have done to lower the ? "casing" pics would be good. What battery have you fitted as I have mine in bits at present ready to install a proper esc "Viper Marine 15". I was going to go the route of 8 AA NiMI 3000mah in original compartment so interested in what you have done as it looks great in the video. 👍

I have just completed this model - just waiting for the new prop to arrive along with a flag for the main mast, plus handrail staunchions. it was a Precedent all wood kit and not too Impressed with the materials but you only get what you pay for. I have fitted a Graupner 700 Speed Turbo and a Torpedo 50 Amp ESC. I am powering it with 2 6 volt SLA's wired in series. Overall I think it has turned out not too bad and it seemed to get better the more I worked on it (or is that psychlogical)Tested in the Marine testing laboratory (white bath) and floats OK with no sign of a leak (fingers crossed). Our boating pond will be frozen over at the moment so no real testing can take place yet.

HI Dave
Yes, my ESC is a Tornado 50 Amp which is the same as my friend's one - in fact I bought it on his recommendation, however I usually use Mtroniks. Our motors are not the same but both have similar RPM at 12 volt. I have ordered 3 more props of varying sizes and pitch to see how it will perform - had I have seen my friend down the lake in the last few months since I have been building my Perkasa, I might have got the prop right to start with ! I don't think I will get a 'pass' to get down the lake before Christmas so hopefully it will not be too cold and freeze the lake again before I get a chance to try her out.

HI Dave
Yes, my ESC is a Tornado 50 Amp which is the same as my friend's one - in fact I bought it on his recommendation, however I usually use Mtroniks. Down at the lake this morning. Boat is now complete with hand rails fitted and painted. 40MM 2-blade X type prop fitted and with the batteries moved back she went really well. The bow lifted well out of the water and got on the plane very easily - would not want or need to go any faster.
