HI fellow Modellers,
Another model from the RADMC fleet at the fleetshaven workshop and boat yard in Ponthir.This model was built using a Billings Kit, bought for me as a Christmas pressent in 2009. A graupner 6 volt steam unit is fitted in the funnel and to make the boat a little more realistic a maplin steam sound system has been used to generate the sound of the engine. A simple mod allows the revs to be linked to the engine voltage. The steam engine rotates using a stripped down minI servo, fitted under the motor housing on the deck, again linked to the main motor voltage. The two 9.6 volt AA batteries and control gear are mounted under the boats floor, forward locker, a minI servo for steerage is fitted under the rear seat and the receiver is located under the wood pile. Figures are self made from items obtained from the local pound shop. The modal can be seen sailing at Cwmbran Boating Lake or at shows the society visit. 1/12 scale 33" and 54" long.

This is GRP hull and a part vac-formed cabin and the rest is scratch build using plastic card! Fittings are from my own range along with the crew. Prop shafts and "A" frames are home made along with the rudders which are to scale form John Lamberts drawings.
Two Groupner eco600 motors are used connected to a 6volt cell lasting around 3 hours running.

Have had this boat 30 years .Started it for my eldest son but never finished. But now with two boys of his own I am determined to give it my best shot.
Completly stripped it, repaired delaminated sections,took out all the gear (motor,radio,servos) and started again.
I will update progress as time goes on but I am determined this will be on the water this year.

my boat is powered by a 26cc zenoah engine,I skinned the outside in real carbon fiber and the interior with carbon/kevlar.I use a spektrum DX3S 2.4ghz tx with a spektrum MR3000 marine rx.the boat is equipped with a killer bee remote kill switch that doesn't need any power source to work so it will still kill the engine instantly in the event of battery failure or broken wire or when I want to from the tx. the carbon fiber was hand laid and wetted out with a special resin,then around six weeks of hand sanding with different grades of wet and dry to get it super smooth,then polish.

I race with the BMPRS. I don't win much but I have loads of fun trying.

In the process of converting a revell 1/400 version of the Queen Mary2 into a working r/c model using pager motors in the pods instead of using propshafts to keep it as authentic as possible. Have put gearing in to turn pods so dont have to have a rudder. So far all tests have been successful and will shortly have all detailing done and have ballast sorted ready for test runs.

Have had this boat in my shed for 2yrs,so I decided now to start doing it up. The boat was given to me by my friend who had it in his garage for 20 yrs, and it was given to him by his boss as it was sitting in his garage for along time.So I am not sure how old it is I think it is a Yeoman 34" model, because it has all metal cast fittings, as shown in the photo with rest of fitting which were on the boat. The hull paint work and decals are the original one that came with the boat, the motor which came fitted to the prop is a Johnson made in Hong Kong.So if some can tell me the approx, year that would be helpful. Could some one tell me where I can get the fire hoses for the stern well please.
