Also wondered about Joe727 from Laguna Beach in the US - sent him a pm 5 months ago - checked and he has read it - but no activity for 8 months - hope he is not another casualty.

That's sad news indeed Peter, condolences to the families. I wondered why I hadn't heard from them for a while. I'm sure a number of fine modellers round the world have been lost over the last year, as most of us who model boats, seem to be in the 'senior' category and no doubt the most at risk (not just from the virus) Unfortunately we are not being replaced at the same rate by the younger generation, which is a shame.

I Have just received this from Gauteng
I don’t have good news about Tertius and Ian.
If you are talking about Tertius Van Zyl then he unfortunately he passed away on the 1st May, he had been fighting Cancer for quite some time. (Joburg Sailor)
Ian Headland passed away from CV-19 complications on the 12th April.(IanH)
As far as I know they were the only other members from SA
