RAF Tender for sale

I am taking my restored LesRo Rapier over to the Southport Club tomorrow and we will be staying over there for a few days in our static, so if you do start the thread, will catch-up when I get back.

RAF Tender for sale

Hi Colin, I have tried to restrict my "time period of interest" to the 50's and 60's (more or less) and I still find myself "in trouble" with the domestic management due to the number of craft I have acquired that need space in the house whilst they wait for my attention (and then still need space in the house after I have restored them!).
Your time span is much wider than mine - so maybe you are in even more trouble than I am?
I have been under the "one in - one out" restriction for some time now - but somehow the fleet continues to grow! 🤣
Stay safe!,

Bob, my boats are nearly all pre 1980 built back to 1914 the earliest.
But also have about a dozen from 1990 to present builds and a few still unbuilt.
So now you see why this lovely model isn't for me.

RAF Tender for sale

Hi Colin,
I like to work on the powerboats that I remember owning or seeing in the early sixties when I was a member of the Bath Model Boat Club.
I also have the December 1964 Model Maker magazine with the free Christmas plans for the Remora from when it was delivered to my parents house every month. I first built this back then - but now I am making a second one from the same original plans.
This will make a change from working on several old restorations (often several at the same time!).

What a good idea Colin - I am sure she would love to be the owner of an RAF Tender!
It would be good company for all the classic powerboat models from the 1950's-1960's that I have restored or I am currently working-on.....

80cm - thats about 31 1/2" in old money, it would be a nice size to run on our Southport Club lake!

It is 80cm long. I just want it to go somewhere where it could be made sailable again. I travel between Belper and Bedford at least once every 2 months and could deliver in that area. Also we like a drive out if you have a NT property near you.

..........as a matter of interest - how long is the RAF Tender?

I don't live too far away from the boats current "resting place" - but fortunately (for my own safety) it is just that bit too far away for me to drive over and collect it - so I can stay on "good terms" with the wife for a little while longer!

Come on Colin - at least give it temporary respite - sounds like it might go in the bin otherwise.
I will try and see if someone can adopt it but it will take a while - probably longer than they want to wait.............
Be a great shame to let a piece of history like this disappear - if the costs of transport were not so exorbitant would love to have it myself

JB that's naughty, I'd love it but I'm under strict orders to reduce fleet as running out of space in the attic, trailer and garage.
I'm sure there must be an enthusiast in the area that would take it on.

It looks like the Adamcraft version of the Seaplane Tender - either built from a kit or scratch.

Would love to make an offer for it but live much too far away

My brother was given this boat around 1960. We are unsure as to who built it. It is 80cm long and has some minor damage. We sailed it on the boating pond at Markeaton Park Derby in the sixties. It lives in Belper. It needs a new home as we are downsizing.
See the attached photographs.
