Try and do a sympathetic restoration, would like a copy of the original plans if anyone has a set.
I will have to remake missing or broken parts.
Cheers Colin.

Really nice piece of luck Colin. It will be good to see what you can do with it.😊

Martin you are amazing, it's taken me 3 hours to find the same boat and that's definitely a:- Academy models, Viking Baltic 540 cruiser.
Motor runs okay ,but I don't like the old mechanical speed controller it gets quite hot.
No leaks in Hull, top needs a rework, the mcgreger rc kit seems to function but the battery cells are shot.
So looks like a worthwhile addition to my collection.
That big tug arrived today as well but haven't had chance to look at it yet.
Have been welding most of the day repairing one of my trailers so now chilling with modelling decisions of what to do first now my left hand is getting better.
Weekend off looking after my grandchildren.
Cheers Colin.

Well that was a nice present to receive purely by chance. Why don't I ever get things like that. Should restore to a worthy addition to your fleet.

Cheers, Nerys

Snap,- good spotting Martin, late 60s, early 70s Korean models (before they went to plastic scale models, -planes, ships etc) Think the company started in 69.

While out 🚶‍♂️with my 🐕 on Tuesday I met an elderly couple of bird watchers at my local lake and had a chat about the lake and birds as well as my passion for old model boats.
As we parted he asked if I could use an old boat, obviously the answer was yes.
And today they delivered it to my home, apparently he built it in 1970, but it was relegated to the attic in 1973. They are moving house and he was going to bin it. Along with the Magregor rc set.
So anyone recognise the model, speak up and let me know.
Cheers Colin.
