Submarine Dive Tank assistance.

Hi Bill,
When you test the circuits don't forget to test the wires as you might even have a broken wire.

If it looks right it probably is.

Graham and Martin.
Many many thanks to you both for your help and suggestions.
I will be re testing the circuits again and especially the micro switch over the next couple of days.
If no joy then I may well contact you again Graham re taking a look.
Two or even three heads are better than one( in my case anyway 😂😂)
Always good to listen to others who may well know more than me 😉😉.
Keep you posted 👍
Regards Bill.

Bill,

I think Martin is right, it sounds like a faulty microswitch, or if the switches are OK, then maybe the pushrod that operates the switch needs adjusting.

If you can’t sort it, I’d be willing to take a look at it.

I have made my own WTC for a Gato class submarine and i have put a build log on this site.
Here is the link to the log.

Submarine Dive Tank assistance.

Calling any submariners.
I am wondering if anyone has any knowledge of anywhere in the UK that may repair submarine dive tanks.
I have a rather elderly Engle piston dive tank system that I have just removed from my Type V111 U Boat as it has failed 😣
I have tested all the components and individually they are working fine but it would seem that the auto stop is not working.
This means that when the system pumps out the motor keeps on tying to run and jams all the drive cogs.
The auto switch is seemingly ok.
I have been in contact with Engle in Germany and although helpful want to charge an inordinate amount for me to send to Germany just even look at it,let alone what it may cost to repair.
In some ways it could be almost more cost effective to get a new one.

Does anyone know of any UK based outlet that may be able to assist with repairs
or indeed any submariners on our site with knowledge.
I attach photos of the dive tank.
Thank you in advance.
Regards Bill.
