Would also recommend a programming card as that helps to adjust the performance characteristics

I think you'll find it does all you will need and more😉
I use several of them and am very happy with them.

I totally agree with you Nerys, I just wish that I could order from them with confidence that their stock count is accurate and they've actually got what I've ordered. In the past my order for something has been followed with a notification that the item in on back order despite showing UK stock, very annoying....😡

Hobbyking do a good range of things, but of course with warehouses in Europe, UK and the Far East, you have the choice of where to order from, but I have found them a bit unreliable as regards stock, not always having what they say they have. I think I have had more refunds than deliveries. Of course, their prices make them a very attractive firm to deal with.

Hi Rob, Hobbyking Uk is practically empty of anything of use and will be for a time. I spoke to one of the guys who works there a couple of days ago as we are fellow spotters and often meet up at local airfields to us for a geek. Hobbyking warehouse is 10 minutes drive from me but they’ve had so little in stock, ive not been up there In months to collect orders.

There do seem to be eBay sellers flogging inflated priced Hobbyking items ie Esc’s as we’ve both found out recently. I’ve got about 20 “notify me when in stock” for Hobbyking and won’t be paying over the odds anymore, sick of it, rant over 😂😂😂👍

Hi Mike, you realize this combination you've shown is for planes, (no reverse, - reverse by programming is the same as swapping leads). Most of these flat shrink wrapped ESCs are for aircraft and the majority are Chinese, (just come in personalised packaging, eg HK Red Brick) I have loads of them in different sizes and 'brands' and they work well in planes, I will be using one of these in my latest jet boat project as I won't need reverse.

For those who might want this ESC, for one way boats- programming is easy if you copy it out on a page, and follow it while the program is running (program is like a tree with branches and twigs ie, main menu, side menu, side side menu, you don't really need a card) You could screw a fan to the heat sink if necessary.

Have a look at RC Echo in Hong Kong, - good range of chargers, motors and ESCs etc and comparable to HK for prices. I've used them for about 10 yrs and never had a problem. Ordering's a bit different but you get an emailed receipt quickly. Takes about the usual 'snail mail' time for shipping. HK is getting too expensive now and we have to buy a lot from their branch in Aust (everything is now $35 shipping ,- even if it costs $2. I think they're having a lend (to put it in British terms) I've bought nothing off them for a few years.

Seem to recall that I pointed you in that direction within hours of your query, after spending some time trawling the net. Including the cheaper Combo offer.
The Electrospeed specs I found at MacGregor are almost identical to the HobbyKing item BUT
are available off the shelf 😊 See links I posted below.

Had a reply today saying that because of difficult times they are still awaiting items from the factory.

I'm not sure that being geographically closer to China than the UK means that NZ gets orders shipped any quicker but perhaps the things you ordered just happened to be in good supply.
I ordered one item, a 50A boat ESC, from the HobbyKing Hong Kong warehouse on 31st May and it was shipped 3 days after I placed the order, and according to the DHL international tracking it arrived as air cargo at Heathrow Airport UK after about another 4 days. It then must have stayed in a customs warehouse for another two weeks or more before it was shipped out to me and was delivered on 22nd June
So the time from initial order to delivery to me was about 22 days which is not great but not uncommon. The biggest delay seems to have been after it arrived in the UK which I find most disappointing aspect in this example ☹️

Not having too much of a delay from Ali Express down here at the moment Rob, I ordered a motor on the 12th and it's in the country already. Ordered some T plugs on the 4th and received them 2 days ago. Usually it's 3 weeks to a month (very rarely 2 months) plus a week to get from the airport to here (60km or 45 mins away) - customs are slow, plus about 4 courier changes!

Think it depends whether you buy it from an actual company, or someone working from an apartment (as is most often the case as people just buy bulk, register with Ali Express/Banggood etc and sell from home). Some people are very good, others pretty slack. I always buy from people with ratings in the high 90% as they are more likely to ship faster

The HobbyKing UK warehouse must be empty ☹️ For my Pilots Boat I had to get the motor, esc, receiver, battery & RC switches from eBay at inflated prices and the HobbyKing the Europe and Hong Kong warehouses.
They all took ages to arrive and cost a whole lot more when you include all the extra postage from the multiple sources.
I expect it's all down to the Chinese factories having to close down because of C-19 and warehouse stocks being depleted. Even if the factories are now open the supply chain will have a massive gap in it for some time yet.
I did look at suppliers like BangGood but that's all shipped from China too.
I hope you find some easily available alternatives.

Hobby-king is very slow at the moment with a distinct lack of communication as well.
I ordered Some servos and battery’s on or about 26 June and have still not heard anything other than the order confirmation.
I have emailed them to ask for an update and not had a reply.
I await a response.
