Schottel drives or Kort Nozzle
Schottel's are used on the craft that needs high maneuverability and hold points. A schottel rotates 360 Degrees. Sometimes these are encased in a Kort Nozzle which assists thrust, With the full-size version of what you are building these would have been fitted as the craft has to hold position against an oil rig. Water Tractors (Modern day tugs) use them and they can almost turn on its own centre.
A steerable Kort nozzle will only move about 60 Degrees when being driven by a propeller.
So I suggest you chat with someone in your boat club about it as it depends on what you want to do.
Schottel's are robust but expensive.
Good Luck

Not much goes wrong with them.
There is a discussion on the forum about schottel and Voith Schneider drives.
