That's very kind of you. I looked on Hobbies site and couldn't find them but have found other suppliers of timing pulleys and belts. The ones I got from SHG were XL pitch pulleys and, although I don't know what that means, I can replicate them from elsewhere. The main problem always seems to be getting the right bore but these seem to come with a pilot bore which means I can drill and ream to my requirement.
Thanks again for the offer but as I don't need them at the moment, just thinking ahead, I will try an online supplier. Also, if your workshop is anything like mine, you could be looking for some time!
All the best,
Ian

I just have looked and hey are still listed but marked out of stock. I do have a set laying around somewhere in my workshop - you are welcome to them if I can find them, let me know.

A few years ago I bought some resin timing pulleys and a toothed belt from SHG. They have worked very well in one of my boats but they did take a long time and a fair bit of effort on my part to arrive. I have tried to order since then but unsuccessfully. I would like to use this system again but can't find another supplier. Anybody got any ideas?
Chris, I have found MBB very good for shafts, but that's not much help to you if you have already paid someone else for it!

Thanks for the info. Perhaps my stuff is in the post as they have taken payment for it from my bank. Will just have to wait and see. It’s a bit vexing as there is only so much other stuff I can do on the model before the shafts go in.
I might even have to do some painting and decorating in the house!

SHG! They take forever to deliver anything
try evets21658 on eBay that’s scale hobbies from skelmersdale he’s reliable
Bite the bullet and go elsewhere.
I see Modelboatbits does a 4.7mm shaft on his Ebay shop - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MODEL-BOAT-PROPSHAFT-4-73mm-DIAM-BRASS-TUBE-2mm-STAINLESS-INNER-VARIOUS-LENGTH/202493965731?_ any good?
Re SHG.
Ummm.
I have bought a few bits from them in the past and never been overly impressed with the service I had.
I swore I would never purchase from them again when some time ago they failed to deliver an item and no amount of contact from me got any reply.
At this time (having just checked on EBay) the site states they are away until 13 June so expect delays.
Sounds dubious, but I could be wrong.
Regards Bill.

Anybody know what is happening here. I ordered some stuff by phone just before the lockdown and have heard nothing since. Their voice mail says that they are suffering as a result of the current situation which I fully understand, but they do say to go to their e.bay shop instead. I sent them an e.mail via e.bay but this came back from e.bay saying they couldn't deliver it. Nothing heard since but I note that a debit has now been made from my bank account for the order although I have had no acknowledgement from SHG.
I am not complaining (too much) as I understand things can be very difficult at the moment, but the lack of information is a bit frustrating.
