A Class Yacht For Sale

Well the owner has agreed to sell, the new owner is having to wait for the lock down to be lifted and is driving about 160 miles each way to come and collect.
So hopefully everyone will be happy with the outcome.
Cheers Colin.

A Class Yacht For Sale

Well, Colin, let's hope you've helped find it a good home. It's not every house that can contain an A class or 10 rater, Indeed members used to leave them in the club houses, until the age of vandalism and mass theft. I remember looking inside Norwich's very fine clubhouse and it was a sea of huge yachts, all elegant, unlike the ugly stuff they race these days. The only excuse for a plumb stem is if it's a model of a Victorian cutter with a graceful stern! And as for "bustles"...where's that sick bag?...

Well Nerys, I would have liked to own it myself but as you storage and transport stopped me buying it.
But have agreed to have one of his smaller boats at only 38 inches long (fishing boat). I think I will be able to collect it next week when I go to town for the week's shopping trip.

Doug, I couldn't agree more, but the sale is out of my hands, as I have put the owner in touch with the first contact I had.
BTW our community raised £2,000 with sponsored dog walk which was sent to the captains cause.

Lovely boat to own, but the size makes it difficult for most people. My 42" Thames Barge is as much as we can transport in a relatively big car and that is with a lowering mast.

Cheers, Nerys

Sell it for what you can get Colin, then donate the surplus to Capt. Tom Moore's NHS campaign 👍 Just saw the moving report of his 2nd Guinness Book record in weeks😮
An inspiring man at almost 100.

Martin, I feel the same but he has set the price. He is desperate for the space.

Is there an R/C Yacht Club who would be willing to purchase it? Several clubs here in Canada own boats. Surely in the U.K. this is done too.

Colin, an A class yacht, if it has sails and internal control gear (apart from radio) is worth a great deal more than that. I would bite your hand off if I had space, but with a Marblehead in the loft and a 4 foot gaffer under the slot track, I can't fit in any more. Wish I could. I'd love an A class or a 10 Rater.
Even those ugly little IOMs are going for £700 upwards. For the old chap's sake, don't give it away!

A Class Yacht For Sale

Hi all,
I was contacted by phone about this boat so don't have all the details as yet, or any photos.
An elderly gentleman that I met last summer in our local hobbycraft store who is also an avid model boat enthusiast rang me today to ask if I could help him sell some of his boats as he can no longer manage to handle the larger ones.
The problem is during this covid 19 lock down it is very hard to get some photos as he doesn't have internet or smart phone.
The details so far supplied are that it is an :-
A Class Yacht that is 6' 2" length of Hull, Beam is 13"
It is White with blue lining, a fully planked deck with 3 access hatches, and is fitted with sail winch and steering servo. Needs radio set and battery.
I will try to get some photos if we can somehow arrange it????
It is located in Hereford, England, UK.
The price for quick sale is £100. although Ive been told it is worth at least double that.
If anyone is interested please let me know and I will let you have his name and number.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, stay safe and well Cheers Colin.
Fair winds and calm waters,
COLIN.
