More Crash boating In OZ /Lyle
Hello Peter ,I am new to this site and hope this gets to you, ta for the praise of my model and yes Ha Vivas were assembled and built out here and in South Africa? & Europe as you would know, I have had mine about 31 /32 (?) years. Out here it is dry and rusting out is not a factor. The viva (63 model) is so big to transport a Fireboat (the 46 inch version) as it sits skewed on the back seat or easy in the boot WITH another model and gear. I am on the EAST coast about 4,000 miles away from your son & I am about 110kms south of Sydney.I also posted for a plan of the Torpedo Boat (40inch) and copies of all formers (say traced on a sheet) as I actually traced ALL parts of my Fireboat on the reverse of the original plan sheet as a future build. Little knowing some near 30 or so ( I cannot recall the year built) years ago how well the model lasts and lasts, at a guess she has probably had some three thousand hours running time on the water as in the early ten years it was used an enormous amount of time. Any questions , please ask? Spray rails are essential on a larger Fireboat at least when SO HEAVY as mine (25lbs) to help deflect water in turns and rough water as we do not have ponds for models at all but windy creeks/ seas.
