Would be nice Doug, but I've got toooo many planes! Thought about putting my Graupner Super Cub (scratch built repro of the model I had in 76) or a few of my other 16 models on floats (nothing to a Chinese guy here who has 150 ARF models !!!) as I am just up the road from a large estuary which is the perfect (almost) spot for a seaplane (see Goog pic,- I'm the green house bottom center). Also the number of flying fields is rapidly diminishing, (in the large part due to whingers who move in next to a site -not only planes, boats as well- which has been there for years and start complaining), happened to our iconic stock car track (60 odd yrs) at Western Springs (also a large concert venue) in Auckland a few years ago. I occasionally fly my planes in the large sports park off to the far left of the pic.

And as an engineer told me once, to avoid cutting yourself, always cut towards your mate !

I know that I am a new guy to this site but I thought that the idea of the site was to help fellow members with there model making and to discus between us all the different ways that things could be made easier.
I also thought that the skills and patience that we all possess in this hobby should be shown and appreciated and to try and encourage the new Guys to the hobby.
As for the point system I think that it is just a bit of fun and obviously the more you participate the higher the rank.
I am glad that I have joined this site as the knowledge that you all have has made me look differently at the way I do my model making.
Keep posting guys as this keeps me and others motivated.

Actually this topic was discussed in detail a few months ago just after the site modernisation.
At that time Fireboat (the guy that does all the hard work behind the scenes👍) posted an explanation to all of us.
Perhaps the fact that you only have 9 Posts, the last of which was 2 years ago plays a role here!
Nevertheless, hope you find our contributions interesting and useful.

One change was that you no longer get points for Likes given, now only for Likes received.
Which I think is a good thing. I had noticed that some of the 'fast climbers' you mentioned had Liked everything in sight without contributing very much themselves 🤔
Back then you only needed 1000 points to become Fleet Admiral and we were getting close to 'too many Chiefs and not enough Indians!
As that (probably?) sole remaining Fleet Admiral I was also demoted (losing some 6000 points😮) in the change, to 'mere' Admiral, so it affected us all, as it should do.
It's only a bit of fun anyway, so keep on contributing guys. That's what makes a site 'Live' 😉

The new web site update also included a review of the ranking structure. The change was made to give the people who give the most input more recognition.
With this review, most of us were demoted. I personally think this was a good move because it was far too easy to become a Fleet Admiral, in fact one new member nearly made the entire climb in three months,
I think I am accurate in saying that there is now only one Fleet Admiral and as you would see, he is by far the person who helps the most and submits the most content.
