Hi CM3 4AE
I really am sorry i have only just noticed this.
Sorry i was not being rude.
Hello.
I know it is a bit late but welcome to the site.
Martin555.
Too bad they're made of polymer. With some copper tubing, grain and sugar you could make a still. No need to wait for the pubs to reopen... Although I understand they have for the time being anyway. Cheers it's five o'clock somewhere.

Bought one of these today. Now, what can I make with it. I will give it some thought.😁

Great idea, we only have a shower but I saw a bath in a skip in someones garden, it was a fibreglass one so I knocked their door and asked if I could take it. They said okay so I have that to test my model boats ⛵in.

Hi Ed,
Thank you.
I only fitted the tap so the wife could put her watering can under it and while it is filling she could still carry on doing what she does.
I finally worked it out why women are so good multi tasking, they cannot consentrate on one job long enough to complete it before starting another.LOL!!

Hi Guys,
Made slight modifications to Big Blue.
Fitted a tap and a removable nylon mesh top to stop leaves and stuff from getting in.

What a great idea Martin, I also just have a shower cubicle and no bath, have to drive 20 miles to a friend, who has a large metal water tank in his garden, will have to have a go at your idea.👍
Peter😊

Nice simple solution, but very well made, I may have to try one of these as my fish pond is quite weedy with lilies.
Thanks for sharing your great idea.
Cheers Colin.

Welcome aboard Martin👍
Any friend of Ed's is a friend of mine😉
Had seen this idea in your rc/center post, got the tip from Ed.👍
Gonna copy it cos some of my ships don't fit in the bath,
or I have to fill it almost to the brim🚤🤔
Cheers, Doug 😎

Hi Guys,
A good friend of mine suggested that I share this with the model boat community.
As I only have a shower cubicle fitted in my house and no bath I had to come up with some sort of test facility for my model boats.
I used to use a small children's paddling pool but it was a real pain to keep filling it up and then emptying it and packing it away.
So I decided to modify an old water butt.
First I cut a 3"strip from the top (to be used to join it together, then cut it in half lengthwise.
Joined the two ends together with 5mm nuts and bolts and the 3"strip and plenty of silicon.
Made a wooden frame to help to keep it in shape and to support the weight.
And coated the wood with a couple of coats of wood preservative.
Now this has two uses first it still collects rain water for use on the garden and second I also have a place to test and ballast my boats.
You can see in the photos that I placed my Gato submarine in it to make sure that it was big enough.
