Pusher tug

Hi and thanks for your comments. I used the original method as used by the model designer. A standard servo, with a long throw hand crafted servo arm and a brass rod connected to base of scissor lift. r/c control via "undercarriage switch", so swith "on/cabin raises", switch off/lowers. linear servos were too expensive when this was built over 6 years ago. if you want to see the full build, go to "modelboatmayhem", look under pusher tugs, you will find it all there in step by step build blog. it saves having to put limit switches on linear drive to prevent overshoot.
Best wishes.

I like and fully support your final sentiment.
I understand what you are saying about texting, my point was that all capitals are difficult to read in whatever format.

Hi
Glad to see you have posted details of your models on the site.
Unfortunately your Comments have all appeared in CAPITAL letters which makes them almost unreadable, and may be considered by some as the equivalent of shouting.
Is there a particular reason why they are posted this way?
I like the Coastguard cutter, I have a couple in my fleet.

Did you ask the supplier of the kit what they would "recommend" for this boat?
it might be a good starting point, then once armed with this info, you can then choose the components to suit your budget, if Metcalf's are too expensive.

Saying that, I asked the supplier of my mersey class and they suggested 900 graupner motors, but after speaking to a lot of other people, it seems it only needs around a 700 motor [twin setup] to power it.
Best wishes.

size of motors for 1/12 The Scout

Hi,
I have just ordered from Metcalf Mouldings The Scout lifeboat. I would like to know what motors and size of propeller I shall need and would be grateful for anyone who has made this model to post their views.

Many thanks.
