Am i useing the right esc

Hi Steve, Glad to help 😉
Double sided pads are a bit thin and relatively hard!
I would still try a thicker and softer mount if the noise is loud enough to be annoying. Maybe somewhere else in the boat might also help!?

Am i useing the right esc

Thank you for your reply, although I am new to these controller's, but not so to how electronics can work, I had an idea that it may have been driven by "pulses" to the motor but I wasn't sure. Thanks again you have been very helpful..
P.s, the controllers are fixed by double sided pads so only themselves seem to be buzzing.

Am i useing the right esc

Hi Steve, Yep some have a tendency to do that as modern ESCs use fast (800Hz to a few KHz) pulses to drive the motors.
That is the whistle you are hearing. Especially if you have hard mounted them, then parts of the boat can act as a resonator and mechanically amplify the sound.
You may be able to damp this down by 'soft' mounting the ESCs on rubber pads.
Hope this helps, Cheers Doug 😎

Am i useing the right esc

Having had my boats in dry dock for a number of years I decided to dust them of, update them and put them back on the water, one thing I have done is to change the mechanical speed controllers on two boats for ESC units (both different volts, different control esc's and motors), my question is.. are they suppose to make a noise when running from stop to nearly full, at stop they are quiet, at full they are also quiet,
the noise I can only describe as high pitch whistle? any advice or even a yes they do that would be helpful..
