What motor & battery?

HI David
I put an outrunner brushless motor in my 36" RAF Crash Tender. I sourced the motor and speed controller from China. You can use Nimh but I purchased LiPo 11.1v and a charger, you need to be very careful with LiPo charging (and discharging) so don't skimp. There are several suppliers on the web (Model Power / Component Shop) or you can attend a model show, Birchwood is coming up at the end of August. Giant Cod have some reasonably priced brushless motors and ESC's. You do not need a very high powered brushless motor and expensive feedback ESC. You will need to reduce the throw on your throttle stick, I use a Futaba 2.4 Ghz set so can adjust accordingly. There are pictures of my Crash Tender in the Fire Boats photo gallery and the speed is incredible.

What motor & battery?

I have just completed a 36 inch model RAF High Speed Crash Rescue tender.
Can you please give me an indication of what size electric motor , battery and prop. I would require in order to drive it at a reasonable speed with say a half hour duration.
Thanks for your help
David
You can go to www.mfacomodrills.com for belt drive brushed motor systems or www.teamnovak.com for brushless motors.
