Paint stripping

yes, id strongly confirm that "fairy power spray" is far the simplets and easiest to use and clean off. I have tried "langlow. safe stripper" but this is a green gel like stuff that stains plastic a yuky green colour. yes it does overpaint no problem, just looks "different" till you get some paint back on.

See my graupner boat blog and there are pics on there of both strippers being used. both do NOT soften plastic, so safe to use, no problem.
Best wishes.

Paint stripping

In the States, E-Z Off Oven Cleaner is the equivalent. Strips paint just fine and won't attack plastic. Be careful with it though. I will attack skin and bone because it's caustic.

Paint stripping

In the UK we have a product called Fairy power spray, it is used for cleaning pots and pans sold in supermarkets over hear,I was very sceptical when I heard about it and set about cleaning it off the hard way (sandpaper) as some of the parts had been near oil when I got to them I decided to give a quick spray and wash to make the cleaning off of the paint easier, left for 20 min came back and it just washed off, so all the bits went in the sink some where metal that had been primed and painted in car paint, off it all came etch primer and all, works great, it will probably be available over your side of the pond

Have a look at the Boat Building Blogs under DGzRS Graupner Lifeboat posted by GregoryK9. He stripped his plastic hull and gave details of the product(s) used.
