@DWBrinkman Sounds as though you had an interesting trip, some blue sky as well. Pity most of the river travel was in the dark but that's the trouble at this time of year over this way, less daylight hours. Varied and interesting craft. I was wondering how they got the cars on and off which was answered by a later photograph, doesn't look like the most convenient way of doing things. How was the trip overall?

Sorry for not posting more boats earlier. I am home now and going through pictures from the trip
I'll post the boat pics I find, although I didn't get as many as I expected. Days were spent on city tours, while river travel mostly happened after dark.
I've included a number of pictures of "Houseboats", i.e., old ships converted to living quarters and permanently moored in the canals. There were MANY of them both in Amsterdam and other towns with canals.
I was surprised to see most of the large barge-type boats with cars, fishing boats, and even jet skis stored topside behind the wheelhouse towards the rear of the ship.
I spotted a very nice yacht at a shipyard, and at the Technik Museum in Speyer, a well-preserved 1923 Racing boat.

There has been some rain, but too little, too late.
We still will have one day on a bus.
Disappointing, but not as bad as it could have been.
We spent 2 days in Amsterdam, pre-cruise and had a great time there.
