Wow, his workmanship is fantastic!

I'm always in awe when I go to model engineering exhibitions and see what guys of his ilk produce.

@ChrisF . Hi. From what I remember this made from tin, copper and brass. It was watch makers quality. I wish I could find out more about it.

Can't remember which model it was, not an MTB I think, but a guy on the Model Boats Magazine forum built a boat from metal and used if I remember correctly that from food cans!

Whole different skill set building in metal and something I could never do.

@SimpleSailor That sounds interesting.

I think I also had a set of highly detailed plans for the Perkassa from the UK Navy Archive.

Making a perfect scale model from these plans would be entirely possible, but the choice of metal for the hull sets it apart - probably making it unique?

Perkasa MTB in metal

Hi. A long time ago I came across a man who was making a scratch built 1/24 scale Perkasa (I think it was) MTB out of metal. He had managed to get the full set of plans from the UK Navy archive. I was watching it on YouTube then I lost track of it. I am sure he was living in New Zealand. I would love to know what happened to it or him.

After a lot of searching through my web archives I came across this link. It was a "Brave Swordsman" not a Perkasa. Also the hull was wood with the fittings all hand made from metal. I am sure I found a link to Mike. I will keep looking. http://cfv.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=633&sid=73ca4eb2af33c220d6a82602deec7493
