Many thanks Dave!
It always helps me to be curious with things like this in order to stay on a budget. Especially these days! Everything posted on these pages has and will always be a help to me. And in this case I too am wondering about going with the original Dumas offset geared set up. I have built the drive system, but not fully committed to it yet.

Guy,
It is an older build. I didn't build it; I acquired it from a club member who needed to downsize.
I'll attach some pics from the inside of the boat for your reference.

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

I don't know if this is any help or not.
I took a couple pics of mine.
If I can do anything else, let me know.

PS I don't have the plans for the boat.

I just got a reply from Ed on my email requesting that he reach out and help.

I send him your contact information on the website so hopefully he will reach you.

I can only provide half of your request, but you're welcome to it.

Hi Ronald & puttn,
Ed Figuero's Brooklyn Blog immediately sprang to mind with me as well.
Link to the Blog below.
I don't think he ever launched it😒
All we got was a string of 'reasons' why not, then he had considerable family problems and he kinda disappeared.
Cheers, Doug😎

I recalled that Ed Figueroa ( figtree7nts) did a long series of posts on his building of the Dumas Brooklyn Tug. I have reached out to him since it’s been 7 years now since he began his building blog on this website. We were all waiting for photos of the launch but I am not sure it ever happened. Let’s hope he kept the plan sheet and will be able to assist you with the missing details for your rudder assembly.

@Ronald
Sorry I missed you last night Ron! Thanks for the message!
I was driving my daughter back to her apartment in NYC. Dark and wet drives to NYC are
always a serious pain-in-the-ass. By the time I got home I was dog tired.

Agreed, thanks for giving your suggestions.

Regarding putting small screws into the fibreglass hull, if he applied epoxy to the area first and filled it about 1/4” or more, before drilling the pilot holes fore the screws, he should be fine.

Puttn: finding these parts would be almost impossible. Although a decent set of plans from the older versions would be the way to go in order to fabricate a set. In this case I might just go with the modern plan template for the brass keel extension. If you don’t want to drill into the fiberglass hull for the screws, I would then fiberglass the brass keel extension directly to the hull.

Be that as it may and considering the photo you have of the parts I would start hitting the building blogs to see if any of those builders might have some leads towards the actual shape and dimensions.

One thing I would definitely do is post your photo on the Facebook “Radio Controlled Tug Boats Only” page and let that gang know what you are looking for.

Ronald it looks like a boat that was down at the local boat club.

Now my comment is off topic the bot in question as set alight but before that shameful act I scrounged a few planks and the lane logo the boat was 'The Dolphin' I used the planks for a DIY camera Col

@Ronald yes I’m pretty sure they’re metal. I have everything for the rudder assembly for the 2 piece hull. But did not realize the 1 piece fiberglass hull is different for the rudder mounting. I’m thinking I could use the set up for the 2 piece hull. But would rather have those 2 pieces. We shall see. Thanks

Those are very unique to that particular style of tugboat. Never having built one of these Dumas tugs, would these be White Metal castings?

I could imagine they are white metal casting which with some careful fabricating, you could duplicate them using brass bar, brass rod and brass tubing?
