His beautiful model boat designs and many videos reached a truly world-wide audience and passionate following. I always enjoyed my correspondence with him and will think of him whenever I sail my Kamanik. https://tinyurl.com/SchoonerKamanik
Spike has always had a good YouTube channel as well as his dad's, I came across Gary's site via spikes RC drone/aircraft. Spike always came up with some great ideas and has a passion for his build and often tried lotS of methods to reach his goal. With a few of Gary'S model's in mid-construction and one in the water that I've used to teach my son to sail.
His sons site was called bearospace, it's not had any new vid for such a long time :( (FYI)
Hi Ron, Spike replied to me and sent me a photo of him with his dad Gary.
Thank you Alessandro for your response and willingness to share with Spike Webb too. I am sure your words of condolence and gratitude will be appreciated.

Yes it has 3 (E’s) in his email address
The sailboat in Gary’s video was not a stage set, it is where he lived. His sailboat Sparkle was tied up to the slip in the yacht club of Ensenada, Mexico.
This is sad news.
I didn't know Gary Webb personally, but only through the internet, especially YouTube.
When I started designing displacement hulls and sailing ships, I had no models to follow and had to rack my brains over many solutions.
Afterward, I started finding other solutions online, including Gary Webb. By then, it was too late; I had found my way, but I really admired his solutions.
I admire those who design from scratch, but especially those who share their ingenuity and ideas with everyone, like Gary Webb.
He also had a face and a manner that I really liked.
I think I'll express my condolences to his son, even if he doesn't know me.

I have been in contact with him before and after his stroke, which he suffered two years ago. He made two videos about a model with a flat bottom but it never came to market. I have seen photos and sketches of it.
Spike has put his career on hold looking after his dad these past few years.

Gary Webb, of bearospaceindustries, first designed the sloop Emma, then came Irene, along with several other variations of schooners. He had a series of YouTube videos ranging in topics of various builds, how to make DIY cotton sails, Blocks, Stability and Size, Servo sail controls, and even recognizing how people around the globe shared their experiences and projects by making and sailing Gary’s designs.
If you wish to extend condolences and share with Spike what his dad meant to you, drop him a email at:
