Miss Circus Circus Plans?

Unless Michael has already sent his set of plans to you for your Miss Circus Circus model Ed, I have asked him to send them to me so I can build a new superstructure to fit it.

Shame about the LesRo plans not being available as I would really like to find a plan for the original LesRo Sportsman because this kit (like the Rapier and the Sprite) have never been remade.

I only put plans up if the copyright holder agrees, and I believe that there is still some commercial interest in manufacturing these boats. I have not chased SLEC yet about this - maybe I ought to. At the moment I am trying to get something out of Hobbies - their legal side has been sitting on a request for a few weeks now...

@DodgyGeezer Thanks for that!

The Sterling plans are of some interest to me, and the plans for the Miss Circus Circus would enable me to build a cockpit cover for the hull that Ed is so kindly letting me have.

@zooma It may be worth mentioning to people that a web site exists to 'rescue' the data for classic model boat kits which have been abandoned by their makers - here http://oldboats.uk It does not hold plans for boat kits which are currently available, so there are no Aerokits or Lesro plans there, but there are quite a lot of Sterling ones, for example. All free to download. If readers here come across any plans for old boat kits which are not available any more, could I encourage them to pass a copy to the oldboats site and make them available to everybody...

@EdW As far as I know, your Miss Circus Circus hull could have been made from a Dumas kit , or built from a set of plans that are available here in the UK from Sarik.

Originally designed to go around in one direction only (tethered?) - and possibly the reason for its name - I think the hull had different sized sponsons for this purpose.

It will certainly be interesting to see if I can get it to run well - and to turn left as well as right.

@EdW

Absolutely Yes Please Ed.

My last attempt at a craft like that included an O&R 23cc two stroke engine in the late 1960’s - and it did not end well, so it would be nice to have another go (not with a large petrol engine this time)

As a matter of interest, I have finally found those detailed 1/24 scale drawings of various armourments etc that could make a useful reference your Perkassa (or other MTB, MGB etc), so I will find a suitable tube and get them posted over to you.

Hi All,
Due to ill health I have not been able to unpack all the motors but now that I am feeling better will get on with it. Need to be able to climb a ladder to get the rest down from storage and this has been excluded by my doctor.
Have not been doing much in the workshop either but hope to getting stuck in again

Hi Ed,

Can you send me some picture of the ENYA 19 please?

I used an ENYA 19BB Marine in my first Remora and Suzie Q models, and if it is the same one, I would like to buy yours to add to my small collection please.

I am also interested in your OS40 as it was my first glow plug engine that I used in the first model boat that I ever built - an Aerokits Swordsman, but I can't remember it being a 40P. It was a long time ago (1960's) and my memory is no longer that good, but I thought the P signified that it was the engine used for pylon racing - an r/c aero sport that was also very popular in the 1960's - so maybe it is the same type that I used back then?

Hi Ed, nice motors, all glowplugs, do you have any petrol or diesel versions.
I never managed to master glowplug motors, and too old to start again. My favourites are diesel.
Cheers Colin.

On west coast in Hollywood area this n next mint. My son has a large pool so I can sail n test ships. Working on Benckart ship. Instructions non existent just pics. No pics of many parts in brass n plastic. I looked at vids. Still more questions on assembly n details. I made many guesses n still had left over parts. Progressing nicely. The prop n motor assembly are full of questions. Even hooking the rudders is a make it up experience. Good parts but lousy instruction manual. Rudder hook up is all wrong and needs a L shaped Arm to servo. Several times get wood parts together n find they are wrong. I’ll going to paint when a few more railings done. Haven’t joined deck n hill together yet to fix rudders. I left motor back home so I’ll add it n drive in future. Have new radio n servo I brought here. If local hobby shop has a motor I’ll pick it up or maybe look on Amazon. Back home my Krick Vll Sub awaits assembly. Again a German company with lousy instructions. But good builders with STL files for proper parts. Well off to the pool to test n play.

Thanks guys, I'm not too bad but wife's illness is getting worse but we still try to be as normal as possible for the grandchildren.
I'm still driving between 120mls and 180mlsdaily on school runs and after school activities. I still read the posts on here daily. But my modelling is on hold for the present.
Cheers Colin.

I have quite a large collection of IC motors that I am going to get rid of.
There are both marine and aircraft engines ranging from .010 to 50cc.
Some are vintage “sparkles” and have spark plugs, points and coils.
Some have their original boxes and paperwork.
If you are interested message me and I will send a list of the motors and prices.
