Trawler plans

HI Dave
Thanks for your speedy response. I am interested in both your suggested options, the kit or using the plans to enlarge to a bigger size, as was my original intention.
Can you please let me have the costs.

Thanks again for the trouble you have taken in sorting me out

Trawler plans

Found the box and confirm it is a Billings Trawler kit Nr 105?? from 1971. Length is 26.5" 67cm so not as big as I thought. I have the plan and wood bits plus the fittings kit. I have copied all the preprinted parts on to paper and there are printed wood sheets for the superstructure. The keel and frame came precut but I have traced these also. it is plank on frame so there are the usual strips of wood used for the hull. Tere is a copy of the original building instructions.
Its a builders model typical of early Billing kits so may meet your desire to build from scratch. Could be enlarged and then you would have to scratch build.
Please let me know if you need any further info
Cheers

Not had a chance to look today but will take some pics tomorrow. This is an early flat wood pack kit and if I remember correctly the parts are marked on the wood and you have to cut out. I think the frames were already cut. There is a plan so in many ways you will be building as you had planned.
Its is not dissimilar to the Progress trawler and may have been a prototype version in wood.
Please look out for the pics tomorrow
cheers

HI Dave
Thanks for your response. I was really looking to build from scratch based on a plan and cutting out the bits and pieces with my scroll saw, however I could well be interested in your kit. Could you tell me a bit more please

HI dickyp
Just seen your post. I have a complete trawler kit in wood by Billings. Plank on frame and I also have the fitting kit. Not looked at it for some time but its about 36" so may be of interest.

Have a look at this in the build blogs, might suit you, if I was to do it again I would put an extra frame in the middle to make it a bit longer

It's a small inshore fishing boat that I made from plans out of Model Boats

If it is a sailing trawler you are looking for, Underhill plans have 2 the Valerian & Three brothers. Here is a photo of my trawler Albatross, from my own drawings. Not plans as such.

I have built a few boats from scratch and now fancy building a trawler, possibly about 34" long with a plank on timber hull.

Can anyone please suggest a model which I may be able to obtain plans for.

Thanks for any help that may be given
