For Sale - RC Brixham Trawler - Revive

Too bad my son left UK last week. He picked up a model at Leeds hobby shop. He was with a major band touring Europe. He could have brought it back with the gear. He complains the ship he got me cost extra $76 in tariff charges. He is at VMA in NY then back to LA after it. Maybe next UK tour I’ll ask if anyone is selling near the gigs

Alessandro - it does sail and sails well in a breeze but in light winds it needs to use the motor to tack as its quite heavy.

Uses electronic winches that can be controlled from your tx.

Like all the model in this collection I am selling they all need the odd job doing here and there but nothing serious

For Sale - RC Brixham Trawler - Revive

Hi Pat, a question: is the model currently sailing or does it need restoration?
Does it use winches or arm-operated servos to operate the sail sheets?

Pat is a truly beautiful and fascinating boat. A schooner (without a funnel this time) will be my next project, as soon as I've finished what I'm working on. This time, I'll focus much more on sailing performance.

The Brixham trawler was a heavy displacement boat of some 60–80 ft length on the deck, with a long straight keel, a straight vertical stem, usually a fantail stern, and a low freeboard to ease the handling of the nets, though this feature was disguised by high bulwarks.[3] Brixham trawlers carried a tall gaff rig, often ketch rigged though also simply a large sloop, that was powerful enough to carry them quickly to and from the fishing grounds and to tow large trawls.[4] Renowned yacht aerodynamicist and sailor C. A. Marchaj commented on the type, "With little area of keel surface, these boats lacked weatherliness as compared with the Quay Punt… Not without reason, fishermen of the north-east coast swore that the forefoot took them to windward."[3].
