Wonder if any of you drive coaches for touring bands? My kids toured Europe several times this year. I always ask then to visit hobby shops to see vintage kits.

Calypso update

Good evening everyone.
A quick answer for Mike Stoney and for Boatshed.
The Calypso is a Billing build which I bought at the lake. It had been sitting in a loft for about 20yrs. From what I can gather this was a first edition model, later versions have different details.

Boatshed: all my training was in-house and paid for by the company. We provide the transport for staff/construction workers to Hinckley Point C-Somerset so don't have to get involved in "service work ". In short I was driving and then misdiagnosed by the hospital and subsequently lost my licence. Returned in May last year and been niggling away to be able to combine my current work role and drive as well.
It seems I've broken the mould and this is now taking shape 😁

Hello Doogle,
Which manufacturer did you buy it from? Billings Boats or Krick? Wasn't there also a similar kit from Graupner? Questions upon questions . .
🤔🤔🤔🤔

Hi Calypso , I presume that with Coach driving that you have to pay for the medical yourself? and also possibly your CPC sessions yearly?
When I worked for the Arriva bus company for 17 years they paid for those for the drivers.
Well the CPC sessions were all held in house by their own in house Learner Driver Trainers and CPC trainers. they also had their own in house PSV Test men.
I failed my first time I was given a second chance as I made one silly mistake but many never got second chances. It depended on what the failure was.
I wouldn't advise bus driving (well TFL red London Busses) as most of the youngsters are worse than animals, especially the school children. Believe it or not the girls are worse than the boys.
I was glad to retire I was assaulted a few times, spat at I even had a baseball bat put through the drivers side cab window because he had to follow the bus and couldn't pass it for a couple of miles through traffic.
I had to go home covered in glass my arm was cut and my wife was picking shards of glass from in my head with tweezers.
The police done nothing about it.

Calypso update

It's been a long day today but fruitful in a couple of ways. Firstly I have had to resit my induction exam allowing me access to work and then was told whilst waiting for my pass to be updated that I was then to have my critical medical which if passed will be getting me back behind the coach wheel again. Passed both 🤪 🙌, was told to finish early so went home and started to retest the electrics on Calypso. So far both esc's appear to be operational and the batteries as well. Next the rudder servo, receiver and motors. If they all work individually then I'll wire them up on the bench, test altogether and if this is successful then I'll reinstall. Fingers and toes crossed ✝️ 🙏
