Thanks for that Jarvo.

HI Stan

Looking at your photos again, she looks almost ready to go, have a look on ebay at radio link, comes direct from the manufacture, also the 50ah ESC's that are going for about £9 again on ebay,

You have to have her on the water before the winter sets in!!!!!

Then you can make the adjustments over the winter so your ready to go next season.

Many thanks for the r/c information, cash is always Important as I am retired now, so I appreciate the efforts. I did think about two motors and wish I had now but the prop shaft is in place so a fair bit of work to take it out as I set it in resin.

HI Deltaman

Is your model the 34" or the 48", if the 48 I would consider twin 750 motors for a bit more umpf.

As for the radio gear, I totally agree with 4clubs, 2.4Ghz is the only way to go. its all down to how much flash you want?????

I use Radiolink £30 with receiver, add a servo and ECS from ebay, your up to £50.

More flash Futaba or any of the other 'names' but what extra do you get, a lot of electronics to do not a lot

The best option these days for your R/C is 2.4Ghz equipment which can be bought very cheaply from Howes or Giant Shark. No crystals or wondering if anybody else is on your frequency.
I recommend "Radio Link" at just under £30 for a 4 channel transmitter and a 7 channel receiver. "Planet" are also a cheap good reliable alternative, don't get 27Mhz or 40Mhz they are old hat.

HI all

I posted some pictures a while ago on my scratch built fireboat, my first attempt after many years layoff, It Is growing but not very quickly.
I thought I would share a few pictures with the forum, It will not win prizes but I am enjoying the build, I have a 750 motor which I think will be ok. The next Issue will be the R/C which I am sadly out of touch with as It must be 30years since I last used one so I will be looking for some help.
I have learnt a lot on this build In particular about getting good quality ply, and not just anything, still good practice for another attempt In the future.
