Extreme Adults

Hi Bobby I was in Maitland in April this year for the steam fest. We had tickets to ride behind the Bayer Garrett loco to Newcastle and back. Very enjoyable day out. In 2025 I return in early March so will miss it.

Hi BobbyN, Our son lives in Woy Woy on the waterfront leading to Brisbane water in sight of the Rip Bridge. I will ask if this appeals to him as he sails full size.
Thank you for the offer and suggestion, I will contact you if it works out.
Cheers

When you are in Australia if you happen to be near Newcastle NSW we sail every Saturday Morning. Just let me know if you would like to attend.

Extreme Adults

I was reading a literary piece which suggested that fully functioning 85 plus year old gentlemen should be called 'Extreme Adults'.

I fully concur and we should take every advantage offered especially by young ladies who will forever have a place in my heart. We are lucid enough to appear less than compos mentis when difficulties arise yet intelligent enough to have a lively conversation.

As a growing old tip, many are let down by their voice, to cure this sing loudly in the shower especially if the door lock is dodgy. Dress when going out as if to a special day out and trust me, whiskers do not necessarily enhance one's appearance and shoes will give you away.

If you have access to clothing and dress sense advice, take it; even if you have to pay for it, as most men are locked into the garments worn when they were 25.

I teach a Bridge group on one morning of the week and always want to be presentable, I wear neck ties and colour co-ordinated clothing, no plimpsoles and old cardigans as some much younger ones wear. The ladies will know you have made the effort and treat you accordingly.

My dancing days may be over but I had a sufficient wardrobe for any, and all eventualities, just my knees that limited my activities. It is all still there and all still fits. From being invited to foreign embassies leading the Snowball dance with a professional dancer after a Christmas demonstration. Lunch at the Ritz where my partner had the Sommelier come across to take advice on the wines offered with the lunch time meal. She was a known wine expert, danced very nicely as well!

Dancing Argentine tango at the Wine museum in London, as part of an Argentine wines exhibition, OK we never got paid but enjoyed ourselves. Still managed to build a few dozen model boats and yachts, teach sailing to the local sea scouts, and work as a LSA at a local Infant school after I retired.

Do not let the numbers deter! Act and behave as if 10 years younger, but have a crafty kip when you need it.
This year has been an eventful one for me with hospital visits a stroke and cataract operations in both eyes. I am off to Australia again next month for 5 weeks to enjoy my 'extra' summer again.

I now see the future more clearly and remember, despite what you might hear. You just get the one go! Live it and enjoy it and pass on the happy times.
Sharing is always the best option! If you are unhappy the sure way to cure this is to go out of your way and make someone else happy. I can guarantee this works every time!

Us Extreme Adults have something special, so spread it around.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Roy
