I see from your picture you are using lacquer for a finish. I used lacquer for many years building furniture as one of my hobbies.
The cloudiness you are getting is from a high humidity atmosphere. When you use a spray on type of application the expanding gas from the nozzle is quite cold. The cold spray then condenses moisture from the air and puts it on the surface you are covering.
When using a spray gun there is a product called lacquer retarder that is added to the lacquer to slow the evaporating to prevent the moisture problem.
It should never be used for any marine purpose.

I have just finished a Venice water taxi all made from mahogany and I used West sytem throughout. I tried an experiment and used 2000/3000 grit W & D to sand the epoxy followed by polishing with brasso with the W & D (an non ferrous metal polish) and it came up so good I have left it as that. Finally I polished it with Mothers Canuba wax car polish, a choice I made just to give that last lift in shine. It also repells the water so easy to dry off. I followed a guy building a model boat on Youtube building a boat using mahogany and he used all West system and then varnished. According to him the varnish protects the finish from UV rays but as my model is not in the sun, like full size boats, I didn't bother. By sanding with the very fine W & D I removed all brush marks etc and I am very pleased with outcome. The other reason I used this process is that in future if I have an accident with it I can easily repair without the need of removing another product to get back to the epoxy. The bottom paint is West epoxy with a pigment to colour it white and this turned out well, although, I had to do many coats to cover it. I have attached a couple of photos of the finished craft for you. When I finially launch her I will do a more complete post on it along with the build. Cheers and good luck

best effect I have achieved is six or eight coats of good quality Yacht varnish applied by brush and sanding in between coats

I'm with Bruce. Test a sprayable Spar Varnish.

Epoxy is fine but use a marine spar varnish over it

A friend of mine used clear varnish when she built her 30 ft sail boat and it looked great.
