Perhaps you would be better with a brushed motor for the boat, maybe a speed 600 motor.

Thanks AlanP, I was just going to use the original angled shaft. I was thinkink 20 mph would be fast enough Ie a fairly mild boat

Most fast electric boats have surface piercing props driven with a flexI drive shaft.
With these boats you are looking to get about 30,000 revs, so a 2700kv motor with a 11.1 lipo battery would give you just under this.
Having had a look at the boat that you have I don't think that it would handle very well at speeds of 30 to 40 mph and the drive shaft that is in your boat my not take kindly to those sort of revs.

But what I will say is, if the motor you get will say take 50amps, get an ESC that will take at least double that, Chinese amps seem to be different to ours 😁

Perhaps someone with a similar boat will give you better advice.

Hi,I am a complete newbie to fast electric boats. I have an SHG Shadow hull about 40 years old which I have never finished. It was designed for a 3.5cc engine. It Is a 27ins long monohull with a shallow to flat V bottom. Can anyone please advise me from their experience what type of motor ,controller, battery and prop would give a relatively fast to hot performance
