I think you will find by releasing the rigging it will relax the stays and sails. Though I agree, a sailboat looks great when rigged and sails ready to take on the wind for a dance across the pond. ⛵️

Good morning/afternoon Ronald/evening, with regards to the sails I keep it rigged. It's based on a df65 - acquired it from a club member who was giving up. Always fancied a yacht ⛵,never had much success with sailing,on a learning curve 😊 so I keep her rigged for simplicity 😂

As the saying in the movie Jaws... I think we need a bigger boat.

Or in our cases, we need a bigger storage room, 🤣🤣🤣

All fun

Very nicely done. I hav 31 hulls in a large 1-bedroom apartment. Seriously considering wall brackets to keep them safe on my walls. Only one has sails, a trawler.
Peterd, when I restricted my building activities to the dining room table. Now I have the top of a huge deep freeze as one workbench and the dining room table as the second one and I am not getting as much done as I was able to when I was in my teens and building on Mom's dining room table

i don't have a garage as yet for a workshop, however plans are underway. Having built (like many others) on the kitchen table and almost tripping over boat cradles many times, I have now dedicated a room to boats, bed and photographs etc.

No more tripping, my boats are now stored vertically, fully rigged. Room for one more of approx 20" length which I am now starting and then the rest will go into the garage when built.

The wife is happier, and the feature boat wall looks attractive and gives me ease of use. Next to tackle my worktable.

Do you keep your sailboat fully rigged when stored or is it that way for the photo session?

My sailboats are stored unrigged.

Great job Doogle, space is vital for model makers. That's what I miss the most.

"Somerset"....I had just read Midsomer, where Inspector Barnaby investigates. I love it.😍🤣

Hi Wolle, you do indeed, Noah's Ark is amongst my "flotilla ". Considering the amount of rain 🌧 recently in Somerset, I might have to upscale 😂

We all need space for our toys. 😎

but at one point or another, it is time to thin the herd. I usually give some of my models away after a while ( or sell / trade ).

Boat storage complete

Not much time for anything build related at the moment due to work commitments and home front. However, after my stepson dropped off some "spare "timber, I have managed to finally bridge the gap between house and garage to create a cold frame for overwintering plants 🪴 and a new storage area for the boats. Had to be custom built as the house and garage diverge due to being built on a bend. Consequently the gap starts at around 4' & widens to 8' .
A few evening's and a weekend later all now completed. The metal shed that the boats lived in has gone to a new life and now I can see that I've got lot's more room for more 😀, don't tell my wife 🤣
