Relax for a few days.

Some of the pictures are a few years old and I took them with a not so high quality camera and in some cases I cut out the rest of the picture that wasn't so interesting.

Luv 'em Wolle😍👍
Don't see many fishing boats down here in Bayern☹️
Wonder why a few are so small and low resolution though?

Relax for a few days.

In addition to the rust and clutter you can almost smell the fish and the sea.

Ah, the nemesis of boats, rust (and plenty of it)! Something we rarely see on models, especially on trawlers where it is in abundance. Thanks for posting these colorful photos.

Relax for a few days.

Thanks for your feedback.
Alessandro, that's a very good idea. I've already tried to change it, but unfortunately it didn't work. Maybe one of the administrators can change it to "fish boats as a template"
Here are a few more pictures.

Relax for a few days.

Hi Wolle, you have transformed a topic of pleasure and entertainment into a very useful database of fishing boat photos.
If I intended to design a trawler from scratch and needed some ideas, this collection of photos would be essential.
I think it is also useful for those who have already purchased drawings or a kit, in any case they are simply beautiful to look at.
Unfortunately, in a few months, it will be difficult to find them in the forum because the word fishing boat does not appear in the title.
Maybe I'm wrong and maybe I'm not capable, but the search field only works for words in the title and not in the text.
It is a pity that this original photographic material is not accessible to everyone over time.
You could probably get around the problem by recreating a topic with the specific title (for example: Collection of photos of fishing boats) and reinserting all these magnificent photos there. In this case, even after a year if a forumer is interested in fishing boats by inserting the words "fishing boat" in the search field he will immediately find your topic.
I understand that this can be a lot of effort and a lot of hassle so go ahead and swallow this crazy idea of mine and thank you already for sharing these photos here.

Relax for a few days.

Doug, I have a video of my trawler I made about 9 years ago. Most of it is on the water and some actually on board. Try not to get seasick watching it.

Relax for a few days.

Doug, the rigging on trawlers is not too bad, especially on the smaller ones. Because we are running RC, I feel that some of the lesser conspicuous rigging could be eliminated or reduced just like a lot of nuts and bolts are not reproduce on board boats.

Some use small wood blocks with holes in them to simulate shieves. Can do better there. Use a variety of line (rope) diameters. Avoid fuzzy lines (they always look terrible).

Look for photos of trawlers that are about the same size, configuration, and style (side, stern... drag net). Wolle's photos are great!

Above all, add a lot of accessories on board (tools, bouys, extra lines coiled up, etc). This will compensate/distract for not having every piece of rigging in place.

I'm sure you know all this but I mentioned these to perhaps assist others who might be reading this.

Thanks Lew,
I must admit that such rigging will be a new adventure for me, which I am viewing with much trepidation. My jaw drops when I see the rigging jobs done on this site 😮

Go for it Doug! One of my favorite boats is my trawler (Artesania Latina "Helen"). Sails great and also looks great, especially when you add all that trawling gear.

Great photos Wolle, gut gemacht👍
They will be an enormous help to me when I get around to re-rigging my Krabbenkutter GINA II.
Currently in dry dock for a massive restoration and RC conversion.

What great pictures!! Thanks for sharing.
I love the mural on the brow of the cabin on NEU230.

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

Relax for a few days.

It takes a ship model builder to take photographs of the important elements of a vessel and you nailed them spot on, these are great!

So much additional information and unique features that shows off the pride of ownership.

Well done

Relax for a few days.

Hello
Here are a few more pictures of the church on Spiekeroog. With a ship under the roof and very beautiful windows.

The house has a very special function. As the island is in the North Sea, there were often storm surges in the past and when it got really bad, the residents would save themselves by climbing onto the roof of the house and unlocking the roof. The roof came off the house and it works like a raft. This way the residents could save themselves from drowning.

The beach of Spiekeroog.
I hope the films work.
The only thing missing is the sun. But that's OK, as long as it's dry.

We are going to East Frisia for a few days, more precisely to Spiekeroog. A small island in the North Sea with no cars.
