You are not a modelboatbuilder!!!!!You run a factory of making modelboats
At the moment i got 2 made last one was a trentmodel. Now i m building the german SAR Harro Koebke
And number 4 will be the RNLI Tamar on scale 1/12 which means 130 cm
But i always finish the last before i start a new model
Congratulations with your fleet👍👍👍

Great looking model, was she scratch built or from a kit? I would like one as Baltic Exchange II Salcombe Lifeboat.

Hi there Flaxbybuck. The Tyne class was named and in service in Whitby 1988/89 then the Trent class took over until 2023 when the new boat Shannon class arrived, which is what they have now.we have had some very memorable holidays in Whitby, it’s a wonderful place. Regards Roger.

Viewing your videos I would agree that more weight is needed in the stern to correct the trim. This can be a battery or ballast. I would correct the trim first before considering any change to the rudders.
Do you know whether this is the current Whitby lifeboat ? I will be going there next week and would like to have a look. 😉

Quite à nice pond you have there with very nice surroundings and à well Made Harbour. We have put fenders in the water and we have to navigate in between

Hi Rogal I agree with you, try this path before changing the rudders.
Overall you can be satisfied, indeed very satisfied, but I really like this search for improvement. I understand it and I share it in full.
Let's talk clearly, this too is fun for us model makers, Ahahahahah.
How much satisfaction do we receive to savor the beneficial effects of a small modification?

Good afternoon. Thanks for your interest, since returning from the pond on wednesday and mentioning the increace in rudder i have had other thoughts. I had noticed that she was slightly up at the stern compared with the bow waterline. This is noticable on the video. During the refurb i have not touched the internal hull mechanics , apart from a new reciever paired to my transmitter. I did strip out a lot of wiring and bulbs that lite up all the deck lights and nav lights etc. These were powered by a seperate 6v wet battery which i did not instal during the video run. Adding this will certainly lower the stern also during the refub i added a anti planing wing on the rear transom base as the stern had no fixtures or fittings whatsoever. So with hindsight i suppose this has held the stern up as well. In thinking this through when you listen to the sound on the video, it can be heard the sound of water bubbling and lapping from the stern as the boat passes by. One of the fellow club members even commented on this as sounding very realistic. But come to think it is probably the action of the props 1/2 out of the water, and if the rudders were only 1/2 in as well this would explain the docile steering. Ive now convinced myself that an extra battery in the stern as originally built is the way to go. What are your thoughts you guys. Watch the video and see if you agree with me , rather than resize the rudders. Roger.

Hi Rogal, I've seen the videos and in my opinion it turns very well, however if you feel like making small improvements it certainly won't hurt.

Good afternoon, I’ve managed to dodge the showers today and get the boat to our pond. Sails very smoothly and am initially very pleased. Maybe just a bit more ballast to the stern and I feel she could do with slightly bigger rudders as she is a little slow to turn!. A small mishap on the journey as she moved in transit and bumped into the internal tailgate snapping off the two central stanchion rails. A blob of superglue to temporarily fix until I can solder and repaint. I did manage a couple of videos so here are the links.
