You are very welcome Allesandro. George made my running gear for my Juneau which can be seen in my build picture. I am itching to try it out this spring.😀

Fantastic Toradog!

Thank you so much for sharing this site.
I will put it in the list and it will be very useful to everyone.
I'm looking at it now, it's well structured and there's a lot of choice.

Please add to the list of prop manufacturers. I have used George's Sitek's props and hardware on several models and they are top shelf.

Hello to all naval modelers.

I especially wanted to warn those who find this list of propeller manufacturer sites (not just sellers) useful and who have already copied and pasted, that I have updated the aforementioned list in the first message.
I have added another site with a short description.

Hi Doug, in the list I made I wrote that Deans Marine has plastic propellers in its catalog but also sells propellers made by Raboech (which in fact comes immediately after).
Raboech is third on the list.
The list is certainly not for advertising purposes (I didn't know some of them at all) but if there are errors in the list, tell me.

Thanks for your comments RN. I am well aware and not the reason I commented on Dean but on looking up another supplier of fittings in my quest of a source for suitable parts for my 1:150 scale. I actually bought my Raboesch prop from Krick.

Hi Jock,
Deans Marine do not manufacture their own propellers.
They sell Raboesch props and other ship accessories, e.g. shafts.
As do, I suspect, several others on Alessandro's list.
Raboesch do not sell directly (at least they never used to!).
They use distributors and agents in various countries.
They are my GoTo for quality brass props. I get mine from Krick here in Germany.
I'm sure there must be agents/retailers also in USA and Canada.
Current RB catalogue attached. Also link to 'Deans' props.
Cheers, Doug 😎

Young at heart 😉 Slightly older in other places.😊 Cheers Doug

Hi CommodoreH, I forgot to tell you that if you want to copy and paste the list, look at the first message of this topic every now and then because I'm updating it.

P.S. I sent you a PM and there is a message in your port.

Thanks Len and CommodoreH, you really know how to appreciate me, ahahahahahah.

I've noticed that this is a recurring question but it puts many of us in difficulty because there are so many variables at play.
As the wise Roy says it is a black art.
I thought that we cannot completely refer to the notions and experiences of real ships because something changes with scale models.
Therefore it is better to have available statistic based on real, tested and working examples, acquired from expert modelers.
I am channeling the experiences into the topic: "Proportions between ship size and propeller diameter".

Thank you, AlessandroSPQR. That is a very thoughtful complete list of props. I will have to copy and save that.
The sure way to succeed is, just try one more time

Alessandro, thanks you for the effort you put together in compiling this list. You can use the list to help decide on what type of prop you need and the manufacturer and with this info you can check with local retailers to see if they carry them and/or do a Google search to help find a source.Len

Hi JockScott, what will the propeller diameter be for your tanker?
re-edited Sorry JockScott, you already wrote 5cm four blades in scale with the original.

Hi Hermank, the list is for convenience only.

It's not that by hiding websites we save stores.
When a customer is not satisfied by the shopkeeper or even treated with disdain, the customer will find the website even without me, because he is forced.
I gave you the example of cannonballs a while ago.
I personally look in the store first, but if I don't find anything I go on the web.

Finally, I have listed those who design, create and produce propellers, worthy of all praise for the valuable and quality work they do, not simple e-commerce sites with large global distribution.

However, I appreciate your comment, very consistent with what you have always supported.

I have been browsing most of them already but Dean Marine was new to me. I just find it difficult to find fittings for 1:150 scale models.
I have resigned myself to making them from scratch if at all possible. Here is an example of my rendering of fairleads based on the vessel's yard drawings.

ALESSANDRO SPQR BUENA SERA AMIGO ITALIANO
unfortunately all your adresses are know by me BUT that brought the idea to my very simple mind😊
what if we show or mention our personal list with adresses or website on this site?
As so many shops disappear it could help our modelbuilding friends from all over the place to get their material.
Quite a lof of these companies( for not saying every company are selling with a website.
Any thoughts on these?
Looking forward to hear from Italy

MANUFACTURERS AND SELLERS OF NAUTICAL PROPELLERS FOR RC MODEL BUILDING (USEFUL LINKS FROM ALL OVER T

In chronological order of suggestion not importance

1. microcosm engine (links always at the end otherwise they will cut into text)

suggested by GaryLC (personally my point of reference as a ship modeler for real steam propulsion).
From what I've seen it's not specific to propellers but it also has propellers (for steam engine enthusiasts it's heaven).
If I'm not mistaken (please correct me in this case) there are only six types of propellers.
The peculiarity is that four of them have variable pitch (or have adjustable blades).
The cost is quite high.

2. Deans Marine

It is not specific for propellers but it also has propellers. To tell the truth, it has everything and is super stocked, beautiful.
suggested by Roycv
As Roy wrote "Although I do not agree with all of the Deans Marine philosophies he details you the right size prop and motor recommended for each model. When you know better then so much the better."
There is a fair range of plastic (nylon) propellers with photos and brief information on their characteristics and use. The plastic propellers are all three-bladed. I believe the range varies from 18 to 65 mm in diameter.
He then has a catalog of Raboesch propellers.

3. Raboesch

It does not only have propellers in the catalog but is specific to the propulsion part.
In its catalog it includes a very vast range of all brass propellers, from two to seven blades for a total of 35 groups (I am considering only the propulsion propellers and not the maneuvering thrusters).
Each group is accompanied by a front and profile photo and a very short description.
For a type of four-bladed propeller (there are 9 groups of four-bladed propellers all different from each other) there are many propellers divided by diameter (ranging from 20 mm and 120 mm) with an indication of the pitch and type of thread.
Each different diameter has the same pitch. So the pitch changes based on the diameter.
It is an exceptional site and the choice is vast (hundreds of different propellers) but the different use of the propellers depending on the number of blades or their shape is not explained very well. The information on ship-propeller pairing is really sparse.

4. Prop Shop

It is dedicated only to propellers.
This is by far the best prop site I've ever seen. Never knew about it before Chrisf pointed it out to me.
Suggested by ChrisF.
It is very well organized with lots of explanations.
The propellers are different for types of use. Within these types there are propellers with a different number of blades.
For each type of employment, an explanation of their characteristics is provided, their peculiarities are highlighted and their final destination is suggested.
The reading method for each type of propeller is immediately clarified in order to identify the diameter. The pitch, the direction, the type of thread and the material.
In the vast range of propellers the materials used are aluminium, bronze, steel (I didn't understand what SS and St indicate).
They don't make plastic propellers.

5. Modellbau-Kaufhaus

It doesn't just concern propellers but many naval modeling accessories.
Suggested by Wolle.
I don't know if I saw correctly, because it's in German which I don't know, but I think that for the propellers it refers to Raboech products.
It is useful to consult the raboech products from this site because there is much more information on the combination between types of propellers and types of ships.

6. Aeronaut

It does not only concern propellers but many naval modeling accessories and modeling in general.
It has a huge number (738) plastic and brass propellers available in its catalog.
It's in German.
There is no explanation on matching the propellers with the ship type. The propellers are identified by the number of blades, diameter, material and image.

7. There are still plastic Grauper naval propellers sold by various shops and e-commerce.
The Grapuner site is no longer reachable (or at least I couldn't).

8. Dumas products

Indirectly suggested by DWBrinkman who talked about it in another topic.
It does not only concern propellers but many accessories for naval modeling and modeling in general.
It has in its catalog (if I haven't seen correctly): twelve types of four-bladed brass propellers of various diameters, four types of two-bladed plastic propellers and sixteen types of three-bladed propellers of various diameters.
There is no explanation on matching the propellers with the ship type.
Propellers are identified by the number of blades, diameter, material and image.

9. Amati Model

Naval modeling house, in its extensive catalog also has propellers.
There are nylon and metal (unspecified) propellers, identifiable by the diameter (which varies from 20 mm to 60 mm) and the number of blades (from two to four).
There is no explanation regarding the combination between propeller type and ship model.
The cost is very low.

10. Tenshock

This company does not only specialize in propellers.
They are a professional rc hobby manufactory, mainly producing multi-pole brushless motors and racing boats. They have ability to design, develop and produce motors.
I think they are Chinese from Guangzhou (near Honk Hong) but the pieces are not cheap.
They have 38 types of propellers in their catalog (24 two-bladed and 14 three-bladed).
For each propeller there is a photo and both the pitch, diameter and thread are indicated.
The material is indicated as Material:7075-T6, Aluminum EN AW 7075 should be an aluminium-zinc-magnesium-copper alloy

11. GT Sitek
It is an exceptional site recommended by Toradog.
He specializes in brass propellers, propeller sets, running sets, propeller shafts, 'A' frames and collars.
In addition to already having a wide range of ready-made products, it creates propellers based on specific customer requests.
It provides many bends for each type of propeller and each product is indicated with a photo, the diameter (seven choices) and the thread.

Then there are sites like Amazon, Ebay, Aliexpress that supply the products listed above but also others of different origins.

You will surely know other important propeller manufacturer sites. I'd like you to point them out.

No site (even those that provide information on the correct destination of a type of propeller) indicates the combination between diameter and length-weight of the RC naval model.

I will re-edit the message in order to update it every time I receive new information from you on this topic.
