Hi Lew.

The word Empres is Spanish, it could be a ship, Latin American (Central and South America), as well as Spanish.

This unknown (Empres) has no holes in the deck to determine where the masts are. Howver, there is are small wires (one at each location) on the deck where the mast would be, probable the centers of the masts, which would number four. The rigging is in bubble wrap and looks to be square rigged. It must be solid considering the weight. Do you want it Kevin?

German Vessel Parma if four masts. If re-rigging, definitely a blueprint for it. Seems to be a Barque for cargo. I will stop now, but I appreciate the brain exercise. A good-looking vessel and model.

Cheers,

Lew,
Is she square-rigged? Solid wood? I can check some of my old magazines tonight. May have an advert or something.

Does anyone regognize what kit this is? It is marked "Empres" (yes, one "S"). It is about 30 inches long by 4-1/2 inches beam (without bowspirit). Looks like four masts and spars in a plastic bag. No instructions. Don't know whats inside, but it is pretty heavy.

Phil, some tough decisions. Good with the bad. Last year's haul had a lot of electronics, ICs, caps, res's, diodes, I/Os, and more. Still have a lot of it.

So much better than having it go to the landfill !

My Last Will & Testament designates 2 executors. One lives just across the street from me. He has a short list of club members to call when the day comes. I live in an apartment, last month's rent is already with the landlord, there will be urgency to clearing the place out. If one member doesnt show up promptly then he calls the next on the list.

Anything MARINE sports a blue dot on its box. Anything AMATEUR RADIO sports a green dot on its case or box. Items with a red dot are items that I deemed his (he is neither a modeller nor a Ham). Yellow dot items are electronics experimentation items that are not likely used in our MARINE hobby...he has total discretion to distribute these as he sees fit.

He is to call my cousin to pickup the radio items.

My other executor gets my Steampunk items. This table lamp is the largest.

As the coordinator (we have no formal "officers") of the Suncoast Scale Model Boat Club I do get donations (model boats, material, tools, etc.) from time to time. Mostly RTR boats (not toys) but sometimes some really good stuff.
Today the mother lode of model boating arrived at my door, courtesy of my son who lives near the donor. Checkout the photo (which does not include several display sailing ships and a few hand tools already passed on).
Built models, partially built models, kits, clamps, hand tools, Dremel accessories (including the mini table saw, air brush, compressor, all in good to new condition), lots of lumber including mahonogy (some up to four feet long), a lot of brass tubing, sheets and sloids, aluminum, steel, books, ship fittings, mini nails ("simulated rivets"), and assorted hardware.
Next is sorting out everything, then passing the items on. Like I need more work - can't even finish what I have started and more comes in.
When I get to the point where I have to go beyond the club, I'll put info on to this site as to what is available.
