Hellp required on battery charging times.

try going to "convert.com". This will o0nly give charging times for flat batteries, but gives a very fair idea of times

Hellp required on battery charging times.

HI Stephen. Thanks very much. Your answer helped me understand the formula. All those other people who told me to charge for 1.5 hours were obviously wrong. the batteries would of probably lasted for about five minutes or less. Again thanks very much. 👍

Hellp required on battery charging times.

HI Over the sea,

The formula to work out the charging current for a certain period of time is: mA/h of battery divided by the number of hours you wish to charge it for. if we re-arrange the formula to tell us the time for a 0.5A charge it would now be:

Battery mAh / Charge mAh = Charge time

In your case: 2800 / 500 = 5.6 hours

More infomation is in the battery charging section of this website here:

Hope this helps!

Stephen

Hellp required on battery charging times.

I have five D cells of 1.2volts each, and are 2800mA/h. Have wired them together to make a six volt pack. Can someone please tell me how long they need to be charged, If the charger Is set at 0.5£ I have been told several different times by various people. Some say charge for 1.5 hours, others say for 5.6 hours. I know there Is a formula of how to work It out, but being as thick as I am I can't work It out. Someone please tell me the correct length of time on charge.
Thank you.
