0900 today our tiny hamlet was rocked by a 21 gun salute by members of the armed forces who were on our local range. The officer in charge did it as a favour to me, when I asked for quiet moment and explained why, he said let's give her a proper farewell.
Three cheers for our armed services, and Three more for Fleet Admiral Nerys.

A sad day but joyful day for you Alice in remembering all the good memories you have together.
My memories are only from her words of encouragement and guidance which over the years have meant a lot.

At 10am sharp Munich time I shall raise a glass of my finest rum in final salute to our esteemed shipmate Nerys;
Fleet Admiral,
Commander Bristol Channel & S Western Approaches Squadrons,
and CIC SW England Regional Command,
Founder and Commander MBW WRENS.
Former Thames Barge Captain and Authority on their construction and operation.
She leaves a legacy of large boots to be filled.
We will long remember her.

Thank you Alice for inviting us to pay a tribute to a Well Respected member and friend to us all. I would have loved to have met her. To listen to her telling tails of a life well lived.I have put the date in my calender to raise a glass to Nerys RIP.

I havé never met or do know this person but when i read all thé beautifull texts and messages it must be à fantastic, lovely person with a tremendous charisma and luckely thé people who met
My thoughts are with thé people who are left behind and havé to coop with thé emptyness créâted by leaving this world

Hello all Alice posting to put the word out Mainly to Ken and others in the Barry, Vale of Glamorgan area and other local Boat Clubs that Nerys is to have a SHORT committal ceremony for up-to 8 people in the chapel at Llanelli Crematorium, Penprys Road, SA14 8BX on Tuesday 2nd of May at 9 am this is just 10 minutes to say goodbye, I have chosen some appropriate music. If a few of you can and do want to come along you are more than welcome, I intend to be at Barry lake this Sunday to give one of Nerys's boats a run. Also I am planning, with the permission of the clubs that meet at Barry lake, to give a short eulogy/tribute to Nerys and the many interesting aspects of her long life on a day and time to be arranged probably a Saturday but might have to be a Sunday in a month or so there is a large shelter there should we be unlucky enough to need it!

Once again thank you all for your Kind thoughts and words, it has really helped at this, although not totally unexpected, still very difficult time, so once again thank you all.
