I agree Doug
certainly sounds like an auto cut off when a set voltage is reached. If the set voltage is programable it could be set to 3.7v per cell and put the battery into a safe storage mode.
I am sure we would all like to see a pic and have some more details

Hi Nick,
"When the Lipo battery power drops to the pre set safety level it cuts the power off."
That is the perfect description of a modern generation LiPo safe ESC with auto motor power reduction/cut off when the battery voltage falls to the preset minimum voltage.
It has absolutely zilch to do with storage voltages.
This is the first I've heard of a separate board to perform this function.
Please post info about this board; photo, type number, where you found it - with net Link if appropriate. If it's what I think it is it would be a great add-onto older ESCs which are not intrinsically LiPo safe.
Cheers, Doug😎

I'm with you Hermank, I stick to sla's and nimh's as I can't afford to change what I have, 25 of 12v 7ah sla's and 18 of 6v 4.5ah sla's plus 12 nimh and 9 nicad.
Plus at our age I have enough brain ache with new technologies.
Cheers Colin.

Hi Nick,
What in blue blazes is "a 12v storage protection board"?
A Balancer board ?
Doug
@Herman, we're the same age.
I've been using LiPos for 6 years now. Never a hint of a problem.
Follow the rules and use a quality charger that 'understands' LiPos and you'll be OK.
Cheers, Doug 😎

This is a daft question, please don't laff.
Some time ago I ordered a 12v storage protection board for my Lipos, problem is it arrived and I put it away,it seemed a good idea at the time to buy one, it's just that my problem is why I bought it and where it connects, like I said please don't laff.
