Algon,
what scale are they?
Very, very nice models. Both rail & marine. And they survive better than model aircraft.

I have a fancy for both....garden rail G scale trains and RC boats.🤔

Why not indeed Ron 😉
Although on production / service 'crates' it would probably have been expressed as 1001 as first series model, to differentiate from the prototypes.

Hi WlliamI,
Maybe you're just too young to remember them!
I was born in Folkestone and remember going with my Grandad down to the harbour and onto the pier.
Grandad would go fishing on the seaward side (he didn't really care if he caught anything, once in a while a few little Whiting, but mainly to get out from under Grandma's feet😁), while I went to the inner harbour side to watch the Boat Trains from London arriving to connect with the cross channel ferries to France. We often used the ferries for day trips to Boulogne and Calais. Happy memories😊
Salutations, Doug 😎

Hi Nick,
"????¿????🤔 "
Keep your shirt on😉, what prompted that sudden outburst?
A short while ago a thread was started specifically asking members what else they modelled or related interests apart from model boats.
Many of us are curious and find it interesting to have a more complete picture of our members, their skills and peripheral interests.
I don't think there's any 'red-blooded' modeller who hasn't looked at something in 'real life', or on the haunted fishtank, without the grey cells starting to tick over and consider 'How can I recreate that in scale 1/xxx! Whatever his 'mainstream' interest is.
It's also often useful to see the techniques used by our brethren in other modelling disciplines; weathering effects and 'tank steering' come to mind for example, or Graham's exquisite marquetry and electronics skills used in his RC kayak.
Rest assured the mainstream interest here on 'Model Boats Website' is indeed 99.999% MODEL BOATS, even if we digress from time to time😉
Cheers, Doug 😎
