You can only control one brushless motor with an ESC but you could use one ESC with two brushed motors. My experience is this does not always work well as the motors are not normally matched and one runs faster than the other.
You could use a 3536 1250 motor but it is far too big and the Kv rating is too high. Brushless motors have developed from use with model aircraft where fast rotation is necessary and the load on the motor is much less than a prop in water. They are most efficient when working at or near their design rating and will overheat if the load is too high.
You can buy inrunner brushless which you can mount just like a brushed motor. Outrunner brushless are possibly more popular with model boats as the magnets and body form a large rotating mass which produces lots of tork. Mounting is to an angled plate with the body of the motor left to rotate freely. The motor normally comes with a X type mounting plate and bolts to attach to the motor which can then be mounted to the angled plate. If you Google brushless motor mounts you will see examples. If needed you can buy water cooled mounts. All of the on-line hobby stores sell what you require.

Do I need to add watercoolers to these motors? Did you use one or two ESC's?
Anouther Trent user is using Turnigy D3536/6 1250KV Brushless Outrunner Motors is this over kill?
How did you mount these motors. did you have to get special motor mounts? (who From)

I bought a Trent off e-bay and it originally had two speed brushed 600 motors ESC and heavy NiMh batteries. Far too heavy and lacklustre performance. It worked but the motors were overloaded and you could smell them from 10 yards out on the lake. I replaced with a couple of Turnigy 2830 850kv brushless + 30amp brushless Escs and 11.1v 2200 Lipo and it now sits at the correct waterline and performs just like the Whitby Lifeboat on which it is modelled. I installed the Action sound unit as their diesel sound was recorded from the actual Whitby Lifeboat engines. The model is relatively accurate but is quite top heavy so try to keep light. You do not need large fast speed motors and my set up gives me a good 30 mins blast round the lake. Replace the battery and you can sail for another 30 mins. My props are 35mm brass 3 blade bought with the boat so provenance unknown.
I would not use the drive reduction unit with the brushless. I have two with my Al Khubar Slipway tug and whilst they are good for a brushed set up I suspect the bearings would not be up to the revs and tork of a brushless motor. As I found they do work well with a brushed motor. I do recall Lawrie White of Model Slipway recommending the speed 600 Eco version with the reduction drive units.
