I have the Wee Nip kit, I bought a carbon fiber sail kit and sail suit from Housemartin sails, a more complicated rig with a mainsail and a jib. Also have a cast lead bulb of the correct weight, glassfiber tissue and two pack epoxy coating to cover and reinforce the hull. It has been sat on a shelf for 2 years waiting for my attention....

Hi, the short kit is just the wood for the hull. You need to source everything else. This includes:
Mast - Ali tube, got mine from Wickes
Sails - home made from Mylar drafting film, or you can use ripstop nylon.
Brass rod and tube for the rudder
Lead for the keel - I used roof flashing cut to shape and laminated.
Cord for rigging - I use Dynema or similar sourced from eBay.
Two servos - main sheet and rudder
Receiver and battery.
Glue, paint, etc
Think that about covers it. Great model for a first sailboat.

I've built a couple of the Sarik short kits and although fantastic quality the box always arrives looking a little empty. Additional wood packs I've always had to purchase. In regards to a yacht I'd believe mast, sails, rigging, keel and ballast won't be included and as you said will have to find elsewhere. Still they are great value and sail very well. Brilliant plans too

I have been having a nice email conversation with a lady from Sarik Hobbies about what extras are needed to be purchased when building the short kit that they sell. I am sure I have read somewhere that in addition to the short kit, sails and mast have to also be purchased from another supplier. I asked the lady to clarify but she doesn't know the answer. Can anyone tell me if I buy the "Short Kit" form Sarik apart from the electrics what else would I need to purchase?
