Trev, you hit the nail on the head. I myself only contributed this year because I think such a top 1a homepage should be supported. But there are also people who are not showered with money. Therefore, no one should judge. Your sentence above is apt ... .

It would appear that you have been overlooked by the Admiralty on many occasions.

Due to your dedication and your long time commitment you should at least be at the rank of (Fleet Admiral overall command.)
Maybe the Admiralty will treat you more favourably in future.

Just to clarify.
I believe a blanket request for Membership Dues is entirely appropriate.
However, no single member should ever be singled out.

For me it's like a PBS station. They show a program and part way into the broadcast it stops to ask for donations a good way to get support for thier continuing broadcasts.
I do believe a little support goes a long way.

I should probably add; there are members who have very kindly contributed but are happy to remain as basic members still (no medals in avatars).

Unlike a lot of websites, there isn't anything you can't do without a membership, it does simply make the experience nicer with not having the ads.

I'll always appreciate members who share their experience just as much as something monetary. Both are equally needed 👍

No one is 'demanding' but I believe that the occasional gentle prod is in order.
Running a website does have costs which need to be covered to keep going.
The decision is always left to the member himself.
The more the merrier and the smaller individual contributions can be😉

I do not think it is appropriate for anyone to make monetary demands of any member of the site.
I believe this site is to provide a positive experience for all.

Agreed Peter,
I also live on a pension but still manage to contribute to the upkeep of this valuable site because I believe it is well worth the effort. But sometimes I am a little dismayed when I note long time (several years) members who appear to be well situated who benefit from the site but do not help, even in a small way, to keep it going.
If this is not the case with Peejay then I apologise and will creep back into my cave.

It must be remembered that contributions are voluntary and many of the members survive only on a pension. I am sure that this site can survive with the support of those of us who can afford it and we can still benefit from all of the years of experience and friendship from those who cannot.
