Cheers for that. As I live in the UK and bought all my kit before brexit it is also EU LBT approved so I don't think I will have a problem. As Herman pointed out sometimes there are local bylaws. I have noticed a lovely flying club in Lanzarote with a runway, wind sock, benches and hut etc.. but since Covid they seem to have finished, otherwise I would ask them.

Martin

Hi Martin.
I live in Hungary and I had to buy Tx and Rx that are EU approved. EU is clearly written on both. I don’t think the RC police would shoot me if I were to use my other non approved radio though. If I don’t post again, I was wrong.😬

I cannot promise to finish one project before starting another. I know, I tried.
Thank you very much Herman. You have been a great help. I have found a model shop in Lanzarote that sells RC gear so I will ask in there plus I will make enquiries to the clubs.

HELLO SIMPLE SAILOR
my friend is navigating with a rc equipment on 2.4 and has no problems with the locals. But Spain is devided in different departments so the laws could give a difference. He suggests to contact the local model club in the area where you are going and ask if there are any special requirements. He thinks that you can't sail where ever you like. May be this is not the answer you would like to receive but at least i tried 😊
Enjoy your trip and sailing in Spain

Hi Chris
Thanks for the reply. I have already asked the security at East Midlands Airport and they were happy about it going through as hand luggage along with my DF65. It's only electronics and as long as the battery is disconnected it shouldn't be a problem. I plan to sail it in Arrecife Lanzarote. There used to be a boat club there but I can't find any info on it. I have assumed as the RC kit complies with EU legislation that there shouldn't be a problem but Spain has a habit of coming up with quirky laws of it's own.

I know someone in Mallorca who has RC boats but he sails them in sheltered areas on the sea.
Might you have problems taking your Tx etc. through customs?
