Yes just scrape it into the gaps left by the pins make sure you fill the gaps then scrape the majority off or you will just be sanding it off after it hardens Yours Brian

DECKING

Hi coffee sticks are available from hobby craft shops in the UK they are longer than the normal coffee shop ones plus they do not have the waxy coating that some coffee shop ones had
Re the gaps between the planks black filler as used for plastic bumpers works well I have laid the planks with a pin in between them when the glue is dry fill the gaps with the filler Yours Brian

DECKING

Hi you must be finding better coffee sticks than I have!

For commercial boats the planking is straight all the way. You should allow for a curved single plank around the hull curvature.

In full size terms this would be about 3 - 4 inches wide and slightly lower in height than the deck planks, I should ignore this. It is what might be called the gutter plank and often any stanchions are located there.

For leisure class of boats and particularly yachts the planking is curved and follows the line of the hull. There is usually a centre line 'King Plank' at maybe double the width of the deck planks and often contrasting in colour.

The deck planks 'joggle' into this as they terminate. Check on the Internet for the way the joggle is cut if you need to.

Hope this helps

OK Guys todays question......I assume most of the decking is made of planks butted up to each other, but what about the bow deck which obviously on a slight curve. Should I shape them so that the lock together and look butted together?
