Yep, should be.
Most manufacturers use a compromise length, covering between 27 and 40MHz.
So also covering the 35 MHz model aircraft band. It's cheaper (🙄) and simplifies their supply logistics. Difference in range for a boat would be negligible.
Just connect the full length of the new antenna to your red socket and it should shift the resonant frequency a tad closer to 27MHz anyway. No need to open the RX and mess with soldering😉 Personally I would use a gold plated connector (bullet) to avoid potential corrosion problems.

The black wire coming out of the RX at the opposite end to the servo sockets IS your antenna.
I think the builder has done exactly what I did when fitting a 40MHz antenna to my U25 sub.
To make life easier if he needed to remove the RX for any reason he fitted the plug & socket in the antenna wire. Just as I did when leading my sub antenna out of the watertight hull and up to the removable deck.
How long is the 'white' tube coming through the deck?
At 27MHz the typical 1/8 wavelength RX antenna is 54". The so called electrical length.
Half or so of that is usually in a tightly wound so called loading coil inside the RX case.
So the total physical length of the antenna 'outside the box' should be around 27".
But please not all tangled up inside the boat with other wires and certainly not below the waterline. Keep the antenna wire as far away as possible from the motor and battery wires.
AM receivers are especially susceptible to interference from electric motors!!
Spent 40 years working in radio communications development and system design, mostly for cellular radio and naval ships. So I have some idea about antennas😉

Looking at the second picture the aerial lead is exiting the rx and appears to be coiled up underneath the rx. The white external pole/aerial would need to be connected to the rx aerial and that may be the purpose of the red socket. I suspect the rx aerial wire need to be threaded through the white external piece. I can see that it is visible below the deck. Might be a bit fiddly and may be easier to accomplish if you can remove the white piece, thread the aerial wire then refit into the deck.
There does appear to be some sort of connector at the side of the rx below the plugs and maybe this is for the red socket. Could be nothing to do with the rx.
