Here are photos of the Dumas 1930 Chris Craft 24' Runabout and a full scale 1930 Chris Craft 26' Runabout that is for sale in Sweden. Just fly over and drive it home!

Hi, The boat in the photos is a 1930 Chris Craft 26' Runabout. It is powered by a 250 hp inboard.
The Dumas Triple Cockpit Chris Craft kit is of a 1938 model. They do have a kit for the 1930 24' version which closely resembles the 26' model, but has small circular vents in the sides of the engine bay instead of the rectangular grill vents of the 26' to provide better cooling for the larger engine.

Just talked to my friend who lives on the lake up there, he said it was snowing. Hopefully next summer we can go cruise that area again and Abigail will be available to see running. Would like to meet the owner too. 😎

It's certainly a fine looking vessel Ron.
One that many of us would be proud to own.
Let's just hope it gets used and doesn't just sit on the mooring all season.

Yes, it does look to be a Chris Craft boat upon further researching. To answer your question, we came upon it when out cruising Lake Kamaniskeg, in the area of Barry’s Bay, Ontario. Totally surprised to see it just tied to an off shore bouy like that, and when we slowly circled it, keeping our distance of about 50’, no one came out from a cottage or appeared on a dock to warn us away from it.

The Dumas kit does not accurately reflect the vessel, the deck in front of windshield does not flare up. The section in the middle covering the engine is not raised. No the Dumas kit is not a true replica.

Many thanks for your reply and the interesting history of your family's ownership of the Fairey boats. I have always thought that they were a boat that looked 'just right' and loved to watch them on TV when they were offshore racing. I believe that one of the top racers was an aristocratic lady with a Huntress. Not very often that one comes on the market these days but they would be beyond the dream of anything I could afford. I was more of a 'sticks and string' sailor but can appreciate all things maritime.⛵

The boat in my profile picture is indeed a Fairey, a Swordsman though rather than a Huntsman.
She was bought by my Uncle in 1972 and named "Sou Too". She replaced "Sou", an aft cabin Huntsman 31 that he owned before her.
Both of the Faireys were indeed raced by him.

I have always had a love of the Fairey marine boats, ever since I first saw a picture of Sou Too, loving the lines and also hearing what fantastic sea keeping abilities both of the boats had.

I doubt very much that I will ever be in a position to own a full sized version, so will have to make do with scale versions, for now at least (here's hoping!!)

That is one of the racing Fairey Marine boats - it looks like the Huntsman. All Fairey boats are now collectors' items and demand very high prices. See the entries elsewhere on this site for the SLEC model Fairey Huntress.🚤
